SSC Tuatara Top Speed run apparently faked?

The number of professional respected people who would need to go along with this is just too many imo,
if there is a genuine issue with the footage the most likley explanation is someone used the wrong footage for some reason, or the time base on the footage is wrong for some reason, recorded in one FPS and changed to another in editing without realising etc.
So many more likley explanations than a big cospiracy
I mentioned before - @speedyjeff, a Koenigsegg owner who was physically there on the day, mentioned that the video 100% does not show the 331mph record run. He also says it's very strange that there weren't independent bodies there to verify the speeds like VBOX.if there is a genuine issue with the footage the most likley explanation is someone used the wrong footage for some reason, or the time base on the footage is wrong for some reason, recorded in one FPS and changed to another in editing without realising etc.

Also, a notable hypercar owner @dan_am_i has said that the 28" diameter of the Michelin tyres would mean that at 331mph, the engine would be at 9,900 rpm in 6th gear. The SSC Tuatara has a redline of 8,800rpm. He's commented this on SSC's official YouTube video too:
Re that comment on rpms have you got a link to the working out? As if correct that's unarguable proof. Done.

The time to pass the same objects argument doesn't yet look certain either. It's measured over only a few seconds, and no-one can see when the cati are passed, only when they go out of the side of the shot
The difference isn't factions of a second, the Tuatara is 6 full seconds slower than the Agera RS between some landmarks. Even if that measurement is a full second out, the speed difference is still massive.MasterVentris said:

The bit above that I was referring to was comparing 3.8s to 4.1s, have you a link to the longer bits?Like I said, there’s some explaining needed, but some people are citing “proof” like above that isn’t really up to scratch.

Shmee’s video is definitely convincing. He also would have discussed this with Oli so I would be very surprised if the run was real
Oli Webb also mentioned in an interview - he didn't actually know how fast he was going.Social media can trick most people nowadays. Too many people blindly believe what others tell them.
I ain't no mathematician, but speed = distance/time and you can't defy the laws of physics.

Certainly enough doubt to call the claim into question. Easily solved though, refuel the car and go again.
https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1130010_the-inside-story-of-the-ssc-tuatara-s-harrowing-land-speed-record-run"By the time Shelby pulled up to the Tuatara after its run the team was doing a check over the car and checking tire temps.
Webb was sitting on the ground in front of the car. “It didn’t look good,” Shelby told Motor Authority.
“I’m done. I can do no more. I’m never doing that again,” Webb told Shelby.
Webb, shaking, explained that the car got hit with a blast of wind that blew it across the asphalt where it touched the gravel shoulder. “It was a close call, I’m done,” Webb said.
Shelby, getting emotional, figured the run didn’t go so well, but Webb told him, “I saw a big number. I had to look away (from the display) to save the car, but we need to check the data.”"
Shmee's video has blown up. Here's another one from SuperSpeeders Rob Ferreti where he even uses a screenshot of my post a couple pages back

At this point, the only people who are the actual conspiracy theorists, are the people still claiming the video footage is showing the 331mph run. It clearly is not the correct footage for the claim.
This now very clearly explains a lot of people’s reactions to how quickly the speedometer increases beyond 250mph.

If this is proven to be faked, which the mounting evidence seems to suggest, I`m amazed any company would even consider that they could get away with it in todays world.
People look for consipiracies all over the place without needing to give them as much ammunition as SSC appear to have done.
What a strange situation.

Doesn't Shmee say a number of times that the info on the screen matched the speed info on the laptop in the passenger seat? I think the speed info is inaccurate. It would be interesting to know if the system was calibrated officially ahead of the run.
It would be extremely funny if it was an equipment error and SSC had no idea until this point However the blurring of the speedometer, and the speedometer reading just 301mph (when the blur is removed) don’t look favourably on SSC.

Inaccurate data would also explain why the driver reacted the way he did. If he saw what he saw then he will say that it hit the speed. Same thing for those reviewing the data. However the blurring of the speedometer, and the speedometer reading just 301mph (when the blur is removed) don’t look favourably on SSC.

First rule of instrumenting anything: if its not calibrated its worse than useless as you end up inadvertently telling porkies.
