What did you drive in the 90s?
Discussion
1991 Mitsubishi Starion
1994 Colt Lancer Turbo
1996 Sapphire Cosworth
1997 Pug 205 "style", due to buying a house and settling down. Cracking little motor actually, we put over 100k on the old thing and it never missed a beat. Came to a fitting end when the MOT failure sheet had a fair amount of script on it, and it would have been more expensive to repair than it was worth. Still have a Lancer turbo though, sat in under wraps in my garage.

Passed in 1992
1)1985 Escort MK3 1.1 (un)popular. As poverty spec as it is possible to go, not even a rev counter. Even though it was only 7 years old it was very much end of life.
2)1989 Peugeot 205 XS - lovely one owner car, got hit in the side 2 months later.
3)Back to the Escort for a year.
4)1986 Fiat Uno Turbo Mk1 - Loved it, some of my best memories are with that car. My dad ended up swapping it for an MG Metro as it had (a very bent) MOT (The metro had the MOT, the Uno had run out). I still give him crap over that decision.
5)1988 Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi - Should have gone for the 1.9. The car never idled properly and had clearly been thrashed. Not a patch on the 205 XS I had
6)1993 Rover 220 Coupe - First job and stupidly bought it for £10K. Found it had been accident repaired at some point, hated it from then on but kept it for three years due to the finance. Really not a happy time car wise.
7)2000 Subaru Impreza Turbo - First ever brand new car - Mar 2000 so technically not valid. Kept it for 22 months, sold it as soon as I put the costs into Excel one day.

1990-93 a Renault 25
1993-95 a Renault Safrane
1995-2000> Lexus LS400
I liked large cars, and the 25 was a company car that I got in 1988.
1992 I went freelance and bought the car off the company.
The Safrane was ex-demo, wasn't bad but I preferred the 25.
The LS 400 was 5 years old but was in a completely different league.
I watched Quentin Wilson rave about them on Top Gear and had to have one.
It still holds the record for the fastest I have traveled in a car.

I was born in '89 so will answer instead for my parents.
-Beige 1984 Peugeot 305 estate. 1.6 petrol until about 1996
-White 1994 Peugeot 405 GRDT estate. 1.9 diesel from 1996 - 2006
Wasn't a particularly thrilling time carwise but I used to love riding in the boot when we had more than 5 people to transport. No chance you'd get away with that sort of thing now I imagine!

Rented a Falcon V8 in Australia in the mid 90s.
No V8 in the XF, Ford dropped the V8 in 1982 With the XE and it didn't make a return until 1991 in the EB Falcon.
My first car when I got my license in ‘95 was my mum’s ‘88 Nissan Sunny 1.4 LS (4MT). Engine blew on it after it spat an oil gallery plug.
Next “car-in-the-90’s” was a ‘98 Gen 1 Audi A3. Great and cool car for a young lad, until I ran out of talent and it met its demise on the Nordschleife....whoops!
