They were experimenting with it in the early '90s if I remember rightly, but retained an H-pattern shift for a long time. Mitsubishi started using sequential 'boxes quite early in the development of the Evo, and Ford switched the Escort to one around the time the Escort WRC came along. Weirdly, the 2.0-litre F2 cars were sequential before a lot of the 4WD cars.

Ive got ex trader friends who think nothing of £1m cars, one has just sold his 918 for £1.7m, he bought it for £950k.
He says his 812 Superfast is nicer and faster than his Veryon, the P1 is mental and his 250SWB is far nicer to drive than his 300sl gullwing.
If this P25 was far too expensvie people with multi millions wouldnt buy them , because they are often shrewd and buy on investment basis.

I think it’s interesting that it’s £550k for the base 22b without the options they are talking about such as upgraded seats etc, I think some will come out at £600k+ depending on what is offered and pricing When you get 90% off the performance and engineering of a WRC car, and 90% of the daily usability of a fully refreshed 22B.

By the looks of it there is around £150k of workshop hours, £50k of donor and probably £50k of parts. There is a decent profit margin in there but I suspect getting an independent specialist to set your workshop build restomod as well would cost pretty similar money. If you want perfection you are going to pay for it.
I agree you could get 90% of this for a fraction of the cost.

That’s a question for Prodrive but I guess that some may not complete the purchase by paying the balance.

Firstly, can I apologise for taking so long to get back to you. We have been overwhelmed by the interest in the new car and have been trying to work our way through the hundreds of enquiries. With such great interest, the limited run of 25 cars have now been allocated to buyers.
The top specification car is priced at £461,000 (ex. VAT) and customers are required to place a £250,000 deposit.
However, we are creating a reserve list should for any reason one of those buyers decide to withdraw from the process. If you wish to secure a place on the Reserve List, we require a £50,000 refundable deposit.
If you are still interested in acquiring a P25, please do get in touch by reply.
