Not a lie though is is. Your own recovery wouldn't attend because of where you were. Highways would have, and did offer to drag your st car into the services, but you were so much of a they had to call the police to come and deal with you, where you had a choice then of either going with the recovery that had to be organised by them because you wouldn't let them tow you off, or your car goes on the recovery, and you go in the back of the police car.

Your own tow ropes in the back are irrlevant, your own recovery being arranged to collect you from the services is irrelevant, your blabbering about smart motorways is irrelevant. You had an option to be dragged, for free, into the services where your own recovery would have collected or, or you could be an arse and argue on the side of a busy motorway.

You chose poorly.
