Perhaps three wheels is the way forward. Forget the stupid top gear jokes about Robins and their propensity to fall over this configuration WORKS! The new/old Morgan is a thing of rare and special beauty. Now if only someone would re-engineer the Messerschmidt for the C21st.

This any good to you?

Two seats, one behind the other, micro-hybrid drive, lightweight, 1 litre of fuel takes you 100kms. I wish VW would build it.

Volkswagen actually is planning to build a limited number of the Mk 2 version of this, it's been restyled (but is still a 3-wheeler), uses half a 1.6 TDI engine and does 185mpg/99mph. It was meant to come out this year but it's been put on hold for a couple more years.

Really?! Any linkies? I'd love to read more. I thought it was actually a 4-wheeler (certainly looks it in the pic).

Can't remember where I picked this info up but it's in the public domain. And yes it is a 4-wheeler, sorry, my excuse is the back wheels are close together. drunk

Gaaaah!!!! They've stolen my idea. biggrin I came up with that when I was 10 except you sat as if astride a drag bike.

I would love to do my daily commute in something like that. Perfect car.

Plenty of other three-wheelers about for people who prefer to build their cars. This, however, is at least better looking than Morgan's other recent efforts! smile

Wonder where Morgan is sourcing the tyres? They're not bike tyres.

Man I lurve that long time. Can we please have something like this rather than the horrid and unimaginative city cars we currently have. Even bring back the Smart Coupe/Roadster with a proper gearbox perchance.

If you go to the Kit Car forum on here, there is a thread of 78 pages on just this topic. We are avidly awaiting the picture of the first production vehicle.

How does that get round the safety regs and being hit square by a Harley engine?

I think that the Grinnall is a better bet not least as it has two seats.

I think the Grinnall now comes with 4 wheels too.
See my post on page 2.
