Not at all, looks well done to me.

I don't know a lot about Corollas but it looks like its the same kit Fredric Aasbo uses on his current Formula Drift car

Now if it had the same drivetrain in it too.. that would definitely be decently modified!

Very nice but,

Why do purists hate it? It looks like virtually every other Mk2 I see in real life near me

HPE isn't a million miles away and apparently their sticker is standard fit to a Ford windscreen biggrin

I'm guessing because of the Vauxhall XE engine?
But I remember loads having that conversion.
Great engine too.

Yeah Vauxhall engine and wrong colour for a Mexico mainly, he also had a mint Escort Cosworth too though so that pleases the Ford nerds

Lovely, no need to be hating that!

There are enough people putting vauxhall and honda engines in to old escorts to upset the purists hehe

I'll be honest, as good as the XE is, I'm not a fan of seeing them in Escorts, a lightweight, revvy, powerful twin cam is an ideal engine for a small rwd car like a mk1 or mk2 Escort but I think I'd go down the Zetec route personally.

Not having a dig though, that is obviously a very good conversion in what is a very nice mk2 Escort. smile

It needs some rusty / matt black steel wheels even with a wheel trim or two.

Agreed, maybe clearing brakes is an issue though ?

Yeah that's possible. Don't Peugeot do a 17" steel wheel but then you get into hub conversions etc..

Love this!

Then again, I prefer most estates over their saloon / hatch counterparts and especially like one off's that emulate the hot versions... ie, how the manufacturer could have done it. Been a few great examples; M3 Tourings, Astra GSi Turbo estate, Evo 7 estate etc. Properly cool things!

I wouldn't go as far as saying that I inherently prefer them, but yeah, I totally get it smile
