If your going to end up spending £3k anyway you may as well do it properly in the first place.

That is very nice. I'm no expert of values of the V12 E38's (Zwolf, where are you!) but that seems good value at first look. Top Notch advert which certainly gives a level of confidence and insight into owner.http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Is that so bad? Assuming you weren't planning on using it for track days, do you need the hooliganability of spanish cogs? It's not a bad auto.
+1. I ran an Auto and the only time I really regretted it wasn't a manual was when I sold it as drift demand means it would probably have been worth double the amount I got for the auto. That 5 speed auto box is supposed to adapt to your driving style and I certainly found that to be the case. An odd feeling now the E39's been MOT'd, really enjoying it and any thoughts of changing in the next 12 months have gone away (for now....). I really need more space so I can just add to the fleet rather than feeling I need to sell before I can buy....

I really want a a car to just waft around in, but I can't overcome my feeling of apprehension - I'm yet to take my first step into barge ownership.
What's the potential bork on an S-Type?
