Old enough that the DVLA weren't keeping number 1-20 (and others) from every new year back to sell on. When I first tried to insure one of my cars (which is also a single digit registration like the Stag) the insurance company phoned back and wanted to know what the original registration was, as my plate "must be a private plate".

Spotted STE5 and 57E within ten minutes of each other outside of Middlewich, both must be worth considerably more than the cars they where on, Old Merc C Class and a Polo.

Updating the SS website and the number of fake 1x1's is growing quickly

F 2 - White Ferrari
1 F - Blue Audi
1 K - BMW
2 S - Pick up
2 R
9 R - Rolls Royce
2 Y - Red Mercedes SL (previous owner of plate simply never removed it from the car)
7 L - White Golf
S 8 - Silver Mercedes
4 M - Seen on Range Rover and Bentley
T 7 - Rolls Royce Wraith
1 M - Bentley

I hope to upload the updates later today.

New spots are

9 E on a G Class, already seen here
T 7 on a Bentley (and not your normal one) that is sadly non transferable, this means the picture of a XJ220 wearing it is fake, along with a new picture of a RR Wraith with T 7.
8 T has changed ownership and the new owner was very quick to display it
M 7 in an archive picture, it's now on a SORN TR7 somewhere
3 B on a classic Porsche 356
6 D on a Rolls
N 7 on a Fuller (yes, really)
R 5 on a rarely seen SL (canny owner also has E 3 and 9 N

Also have 7 transfers, Gillian has bought herself two new Audi'slaugh

I was on a walk in the Isle of Wight last week and came across a maroon Jag XJ sporting a number plate of Y nnnnnn

It might have been five numbers or six, but definitely not something I’d ever seen before. I would have taken a pic but I was on the phone at the time.

Where would these come from? Same format as a Jersey plate so assuming some form of local territory plate?
No, that's not an island plate or anything similar. If only four digits it could be an original Somerset reg? I'm not aware of any overseas formats like this.
