It wouldn't be a Shedow if it wasn't a bit sheddy smile

It would make a nice ornament to place next to a pool if you had the dosh. Except it's inevitable you would have a few too many shandies one evening and in it would plop.

Just been catching up on the thread after our European trip.
4010 miles in the W126 in 10 days.
Averaged just over 22mpg which wasn`t too bad when you consider some of the mountain passes we were on.
Car performed without fault.
Probably for sale in the very near future.

Some wonderful stuff there, selling for what look like very low prices.

Wonder how much more these cars would fetch if they weren't where they are. I'd certainly go for a browse if they weren't in Narnia, and you know what browsing leads to...
Some low, but when did I miss the note that E30's trebled in price overnight? Sheesh, who buys these?

My favorite colour combo on the W126 & C126

This car was for sale around 3-4 months ago and sold between £2,700 and £3,000 but can't remember the exact price.

The registration is the 26th of May which is my birthday and I was very tempted to go and look at it.

The car was pictures in a barn but looked in good condition but it did have age related marks.

He had this advertised a week or so ago for £8,000 which is taking a fair profit.

This car will be over the £5,000 thread budget.

Has anyone else noticed a change in eBay motors search function recently? I haven't used it for a while and now I'm finding it hard to use... I don't want to filter my search by category or manufacturer ffs! I like to list by distance to postcode within a price bracket and see what takes my fancy. Seems impossible to do that now?

Range Rover Classics are far from cheap these days.
A solid RRC with full MOT in tidy nick is well worth £5k.
If it's a LWB the number plate is good, too!

That looks very unloved to me. Rather than tints and a shiny induction kit I'd prefer to see the basics taken take of. Suspect you could easily sink the purchase price into it again.

New thread-qualifying purchase. True to type it is:

  • A bit old but not very
  • A bit sheddy but not very
  • Cheap, but not very
  • Rocking an LPG conversion
Further graphic updates once it has stopped raining stair-rods.
It addition to the Jag?
Yup, but no further details until supporting imagery is available.

I love this bit, and it doesn't happen often enough for me to risk popping my own smoky 1-5 barge balloon.
Here we go. The Tebbit-Mobile.

Bought because the XJS is fine for transporting unitot but deeply frustrating when prompted into the realm of multisprogular perambulation.

And also because if it was good enough for Margaret Thatcher's Vegetables, then it's good enough for me.

You know dbdb's XJ40? Well it's nothing like that. It's a shed. But it isn't half comfy.

Mahoosive LPG tank, 170,000 miles, 11 months MOT, £1,000.00 exactly. Whether that is a bargain or whether I've been totally mugged remains as yet very much unclear.
Ha! - Very good! One of the last ones too - with the X300 style side repeaters and twin airbags. Rather unusually though, it has seats fitted from an early model - presumably it originally had cloth. I didn't realise earlier seats would go in the later cars.

Quite a few of Thatcher's cabinet had XJ40s as personal cars - John Major and Michael Heseltine also did. Margret Thatcher had a gold one for a while too. I have a photo of it somewhere. Tony Blair had one, but only as an official car, IIRC.

I am glad you are here!

It is a Gold Edition car, which apparently got a leather interior, but of an inferior quality. The seller tells me the 170,000 miles took their toll, so a good condition, earlier, Sovereign interior has been fitted in place of the original.

All fair enough so far, but the Sovereign seats were electric, where the Gold Edition seats were manual.

So these seats are sitting on (I suppose the original) manual fore-aft bases, but do not have a manual or electric adjustment for the seat-back angle. Do you have any ideas?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I haven't even looked at the listing.
My reply was with regards to RRC's in general smile
But yes, as you've said above, that's par for the course with old RR's.
