Snoop Dogg?

(sorry, but that line in the advert about not wanting opinions is a shocker)

There is a 2000 W210 E320 CDI listed for sale on Car and Classic has 55 thousand miles with a genuine AMG bodykit apparently, and 1 owner from new.

He listed this car for sale around two years ago for 17995 with the fancy wheels, Now has it listed on Car and Classic for 13995 WITHOUT the 'only produced custom wheels in the world' -It would come with the standard AMG monoblocks If this is the case, why would he want to sell the car with them?

What bothers me is the fact that throughout the WHOLE 20 years, looking at the MOT history, there is not ONE single MOT advisory. That I find very suspicious of a 20 year old car, ESPECIALLY the W210 E Class. If you know you know. He doesn't even use it to be honest.
This guy has definitely used the same MOT garage over the years, by bribing them or something.

What also bothers me much is how it's not even a FULL spec E320 CDI, which If it was, i'd understand a little bit, but it's not!

It costs more than an average priced ACTUAL E55 AMG which is a MUCH more special car. - If you know you know.
You would buy this car spending at least 13k for people to look and think, WOW, that's a really clean E55 when in reality, It's a 3.2L turbo diesel engine.

The seller really seems to have a stick up his ass or something, and thinks that we are in like 2008 or something.

Judging by his description of the advert he seems like a very stuck up and greedy person, and his description kind of deters people from buying:

'Please keep your opinions about the car and the price to yourself!' - He knows it's grossly overpriced.

'If your genuinely interested in the car il be more than happy to answer your questions.' - How would he know if i'm genuinely interested in the car? And he should answer people's questions even in they are not 100% interested.

Please no time wasters, only contact me if your genuinely interested in the car and have the funds to purchase. - People asking more questions about your grossly overpriced cars is not time wasting my guy.

I just don't understand this. Why spend an overpriced amount of money on something that only looks like the E55 AMG, When you can buy an W210 E55 AMG for like 4,5,7, or at most 10k and that's a car that seems to be going up in value apparently according to these sellers. But If they are going up in value why sell now?

He's an idiot who isn't going to sell his car. I wouldn't bother assessing it further than that.

I would imagine he knows it's not worth what it's up for but presumably, after years of pouring money into maintaining it and modifying it, he's probably bitter that he won't see any of that back. I do understand the mentality, there is nothing wrong with wanting to get back the money you put into but it just isn't going to happen. I don't think it's necessarily greed.

If/when it doesn't sell, the price will be lowered again and again until a) he decides to keep it or b) he accepts that it's not worth what he wants for it and lists it at a reasonable price.

I hope so. Then he can see we are laughing at him and what a deluded ringpiece he is. It's a £4k car at most.

I think that's what should happen soon. with his car, But I think this guy is extremely stubborn and a dreamer. Scarily delusional. But I don't think that's going to be happening soon.

The thing is, I saw an E55 AMG 2001 nearly full spec on eBay for auction. In fact, better spec than the E320 CDI I mentioned earlier.

The seller wanted no less than 10000 pounds for it. And to me I think that's too overpriced. It isn't at those prices just yet. It finished for 6600 pounds at auction, and he told me over the phone that: Ahh, I just put it on there just to see what will happen, and I most likely will be relisting it if it's less than 10000' Yesterday, called him, asking if he still had the car, he told me he sold it for the finish price, I asked him why, and he said, 'I Just needed the money'.

See, that's what i'm saying. If his E55 AMG was a 10000 pound car I'm sure he would not allow it to go for that amount of money?
Why should his car be worth more than 10,000 atm, let alone an E320 CDI which looks like a E55, but isn't!

You have an ulterior motive for posting this car on this thread, don’t you?

You’ve not posted here since December 2017, and now this. Something isn’t right.

Fixation on the sellers car and price. Does seem odd.

LOL I never post regularly on this forum, I just do other things, I posted on the WHERE ARE THEY NOW -Trace your old car thread. But I've not posted since then. I have visited PH threads hundreds of times since then, but I rarely post myself.

There is a 2000 i think Polo gti for 6k on autotrader. No special model, high miles, ugly, rusty and dated. No thanks. A 2000s ADAC cup edition on the other hand is a better buy for 6k (180hp, proper gizmos)

Have we had this yet: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-car-mg/18437500...

Probably being slightly unfair, as the apparent £4.7M asking price for an MG SV is presumably just there as a holder for negotiations, although the wording of the advert would not inspire confidence in me either.

But if this too much you could always spend £12k on a Trabant: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trabant-601-Special/264...

It is also interesting to see how much Hemel Hempstead has changed since I last saw it.

Hemel Hempstead is obviously a hot bed for Eastern European classics, as you also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a Lada for £18k: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lada-1500-2103/26481030...

I do love the Fiat 125 styling but that's worth £1k at most.

I always thought the Lada and Polski Fiat used the Fiat 125 bodyshell. Stand to be corrected though..

M2 CS for 93k looks like a touch on the steep side to me. Ok it's limited production but really, is that what someone would pay?
Or you could spend even more and go for the E46 CSL.
