Knob.
Frustration with MLMs got too much for him, perhaps?

the stupid fking splitarse who, when she rounded a bend and caught the low and bright autumn sun in her eyes, decided that the appropriate course of action would be to stand on the fking brakes. What a waste of tits.

Whereas what she should have done was just carry on driving with the sun shining right into her eyes?

Yup. Cyclists have been killed when idiots failed to moderate their speed when entering a situation where their forward visibility was compromised. Worse still, in almost all those cases, members of the judiciary backed those idiots and failed to punish their recklessness.

"Standing on the brakes" does sound like a ridiculous response to low sun, but hey? If you can't see the road ahead, be prepared to stop in the distance you can see to be clear. Right? Sadly, many people are more scared of being rear-ended by idiots not slowing behind them than they are of hitting something, or someone ahead of them, so few people actually slow to a sensible speed for conditions. I think many people 'use the force' or cross their fingers when driving at speed despite being unable to see very far ahead...

...I can see both sides of this, and if the woman concerned rapidly came to a complete halt it suggests she wasn't planning ahead, but conversely, the driver following her (Blown2CV in this case) should also have been preparing to slow in response to reducing visibility, and ought, in my view (based on the limited info in this rant), to have been ready to slow too. After all, the sun being low in the sky is an entirely predictable event. It happens from the same direction at a similar time every single day, FFS! It never sneaks up on you from the north, jumping out from behind a tree like some "killer" clown.

Seen 3 down my street over the past few days. Was quite surprised as one is a very respectable type so maybe just unfortunate oversight. Good to see DVLA actually doing something about it though!

Indeed. One of them was a 15 plate Mercedes.

It's one of my pet hates about driving at this time of year (and again in the spring) - people driving into low sun who fail to consider that turning on their sidelights (ie, so that their tail lights come on) makes them an awful lot easier to see.

Front foglights on to make up for the fact that one of their headlights is out. Very common now the evenings are getting darker.

If you know it's out, sort it ffs!

Good point but..........

L3 in a 53 seater is illegal & the rapid deceleration needed by those of us behind the buck eejit could have caused a nasty shunt.

In other words, he's still a knob imo tongue out

The drivers in the short film on the BBC News website about texting and driving. Particularly the first one, who said he "didn't give a fk" that it was illegal.

Just watched this, not a single valid reason for being on the phone from any of them.

The idiot in the bmw x5 south bound on the a1 tonight.
He was sat in the outside lane for miles and he just kept randomly dabbing his brakes i was near him so it did not effect me.
It was really odd driving he was even doing it on straight bits of road with nothing in front of him.

She should have seen that the sun was shining and adjusted her visor. She didn't slow a touch, she fking slammed on. I was going a safe distance behind and I already had shades on so I wasn't in danger of hitting her, but in the situation it was completely an unnecessary and dangerous thing to do.

Is there ever a VALID reason to be on the phone, hand held or hands free, when you are driving?

They are both, as has been proved, as dangerous as each other.

Say NO to remote calls.: shout
