the more i think about it the more the GT86 seams to be a perfect car for the OH
do the back seats have isofix points?

Yes the 2 rear seats have ISOFIX, it has a very decent size boot too - tell her its a sensible choice!the more i think about it the more the GT86 seams to be a perfect car for the OH

It's just the rear facing seats are a PITA to use on a 2/3 door car, especially when junior becomes heavy.
Good luck though!
Have you seen the rear seats in a GT86? I doubt there's a child seat available that will fit. Also, with a normal sized adult in the front, there is zero legroom in the back (and I mean zero!).Good luck though!

You can fit an adult of 5`10 behind someone whos 5`8 or round the other way of course, trust me I did it last night!!!Chris71 said:
I love the 370Z premise, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the reality. It feels quite agricultural in many respects (particularly the gearbox which is a real bicep builder); the engine has a reasonable amount of grunt but isn't especially exciting and the handling is a bit ponderous.
Pretty much my experience of the 370Z. I was in the market for one over a year ago - something fun to drive without the [potential] Porsche bills. It's much better put together than the 350Z and a much nicer car to sit in. But agree with the review - for pure driving pleasure it's missing a tenth (or hundredth) here and there and it all adds up to the overall experience. I actually prefer driving the 968 even though the V6 in the 370Z is obviously years ahead and has serious grunt at low revs. It's not a bad car in any way - just not a great one - but i'd still be happy to drive one.I've been avoiding this thread as the GT86 didn't appeal to me on paper.
After reading a few reviews and watching the video I'm really warming up to the hype. I can see this car being an excellent used buy in a few years time.
As usual a fine video Mr. Harris with some lovely driving.
Personally as a private buyer I'd veer towards the used Caymen, but then I'd think, I could have wind in the hair fun in virtually the same car in the form of a Boxster, then I'd think I could have missile performance for the same money and a little more exclusivity in the form of an SLK55.
So, that's where my money would be going. SLK55. Totally different car though.

Sod it, if your going down that path I'd get an SL350, under 15 grand for good example. After reading a few reviews and watching the video I'm really warming up to the hype. I can see this car being an excellent used buy in a few years time.

Interesting read following a good video review for me.
I was interested as I am looking for a RWD coupe for fun use in the next 6months.
Where this has left me, is back in the German second hand corner,
M3
Z4M cab
Caymen
Boxster
I have considered TVR, Atoms, etc but want regular tour ability, though a Chim/Cerb still might make the cut.
The warranty on the Toyota as some have said can be offset by smart purchasing, adding a aftermarket or AUC warranty.
And the 350z doesnt appeal any way.
Re the video format, I do think we should remember this is an enthusiasts forum, so a review based on enthusiastically drving is the correct form. It's not which or handbag.com
Thanks Chris, I found it helpful and was considering a used Caymen v's an new 86....
(Btw thanks for the drive in the Clio V6 when I was at alpine all those years ago.)

Says who?
Me for a start. I really wanted to buy a Z4M when I was looking to change out of my Boxster S. I found the clutch pedal ridiculous and the steering wheel's as thick as a whales dick. It's fast and the engine is great, but it doesn't have the balance or poise of a Cayman. It also feels quite a bit heavier. CJP80 said:
