This is just down the road from me. The Manor Road Garage in East Preston, W Sussex, was built in the 1930s. It was abandoned in 1973 and lay derelict for years - rumour has it there were some interesting cars inside! The site was developed a few years ago into apartments. They restored the frontage/pumps which is a great touch.

The photos on this thread are incredible. The garage even contained six steam engines.

The Forge Garage, Burghfield Common.
The amiable chap I spoke to said it had been a garage for fifty years and before that it had been the forge. The main building was the blacksmith's cottage and his forge next door was where the workshop is now. He tried to find the landlord who lives two doors down to ask about old photos but he wasn't in. I said I'd look on the internet and sure enough:
