It's bad parking on the basis that it's outside my house and people might think I have something to do with such an egregious crime against taste.

It's a shared use path/cycle path. Only time I really use one and people still think I've being a tt and riding on the path:

Tsk for link, hope you have a bell, I do, many around here don't, just whiz past you on shared paths. Unless peds saw the sign on your link they would be oblivious to a shared path.

I have a bell. The majority of pedestrians ignore it or have headphones in and don't hear it. I slow right down before passing people anyway. Have had a few nice people move out of the way, but a lot of pedestrians just walk down the middle of the path oblivious.

Have also had angry people purposely getting in my way.

To be honest, I've stopped using the bell for every pedestrian encounter. I just slow right down and crawl past people. Some people jump when they hear the bell and I don't want to scare people. hehe

I'm normally on the road when on my other bikes. The route above is my commute to work though and I'm on a heavy hybrid with thick tyres, flat pedals and a rucksack on my back with work laptop etc. in.

That really busts my hump - people thinking that a broad pavement is OK to use as a parking space, as if the fact they are not on the road somehow means they have parked well. Selfish, self-absorbed spacktards.

You may think no biggie, but I usually try to park in the bay to the left to protect one side of my car and the back.

Left a polite note "One car = one space, try harder next time"
Why not just park next to that white Audi? That would save you time with handing out your notes and allow you to do something more interesting in life.
Because I don't abandon my car like this, and this really pisses me off. And this corner protects one side of my car and the back, parking next to the Audi doesn't.
Well the space next to the Audi or behind the jag will be an end space. This will protect 1 side of your car and allow you to spend more time enjoying life and less time putting notes under windscreen wipers.
This is the BAD PARKING THREAD don't you know. biggrin

Another one drives in, abandons car and goes to shop.

At least you could put a note on this car saying, Is your number plate the sound in your brain makes trying to park properly.
That IS pretty st parking.

However, I can imagine who parks like that would get upset if they got a note pointing out how st their skills are. They might even subtly suggest the people who write notes have no life. wink

Posted this on the incongruous thread but questions where raised about my parking. So I thought I would throw myself to the wolves and stick it on here.

fk all wrong with that. Prepared to bet that's an end space
I'd like to think its an end space.

As that's what I do every day to maximise the space the next One or two cars in the line get.
Even IF the guy next to me, parks right in his line, I still guarantee a full spaces width.

Not excusing it as such, but doesn't the pavement stop immediately behind it ?

I suppose the moral of this thread is that there's never a parking warden (are they still called that?) or traffic officer around when you need one.

How much "More Space" does a Fiat 500 need?

First picture from behind taken standing on the footpath which continues the whole length of the road.

Really decepive photo from the other way, looks like there's no pavement on either side of the road. As you were, wk parking of the highest order...

Not defending it but why is it never these chunts who get keyed? If there was any justice in the world, the owner would be coming back to a big old wang carved into the bonnet.
