Is this gonna turn into another cars vs. bikes thread? They're always fun.

All I know is I can hardly keep up with a builder's van in a rush on a B road when on my bike, never mind a 200-odd bhp rally homologation.

The issue is there is no such thing as a standard B road, standard surface condition, standard traffic levels, standard policing condition... so how do you compare vehicles? I’ve driven on B roads where 40mph was a real struggle and others where you only had to slow to 120mph occasionally.
True of course, to a point - but I assume (despite your handle) you aren't a biker. There is a chasm between the two - at least in the dry - probably in the wet too if you aren't a wimp like me.

First deliveries already happened. Just check the Facebook groups for that.

Most of us are being quoted Jan / Feb.

I'm happy for mine to come sometime on February, and I'll pick it up March 1st.

Checked my Toyota portal, and it's still saying `Processing`

For Australians. UK cars have an issue some say wheel bolts some say wheel caps and some say it’s certificate of conformity is not signed off.

A mid field result from him, he clearly doesn’t have a major issue with it.

It all depends on the kind of car you like. I like GT86 style handling, I doubt I will like the Yaris GR more

However look at the cars he placed the Yaris above

Very positive reviews from the testers involved though - certainly against those cars

I was told all Uk deliveries that were meant for the 14th of November have been put back until the end of November. Wasn’t given a reason other than ‘delay’ I assumed it was for Covid

Exactly my predicament, attributes of the 86 really liked here with a few subtle tweaks smile but the GR also appeals too !! I will be jumping straight out of the 86 into the GR when the test drive is confirmed and will be fascinated to see how it feels back to back.

Obviously acknowledging that they will be very different biggrin

it's interesting, if you exclude Frankel's votes from the score sheet the Yaris comes joint 1st with the Aerial Atom and pushes the McLaren back to 3rd.

For it to come a very close third to an Ariel Atom 4 and a McLaren 765 LT, one being a completely focused track car and the other a £280,000 supercar, in a track test, when it’s a rally car is pretty astounding. Then you can leave the track and have some fun on the gravel, before doing the weekly shop and picking the kids up from school. For a couple of hundred quid a month. It’s a 2020 Clio Trophy, love it.

A terrific result - but an odd mix in the final shootout - the wrong 911, no Cayman GTS4.0 or A110 and I can't think anyone would expect the Aston or Taycan to figure. Might well have still finished 3rd in the conditions, but it would have been interesting to see.

Good point - where was the Cayman GTS4 and Alpine A110S ???

First Dyno of a Yaris in Italy on 98 RON fuel.

278 hp and 271 lb ft.

UK cars are rated at 257 hp and 265 lb ft.

Japanese cars are rated on 100 RON and are 268hp and 273 lb ft.

It's a very interesting curve - power is well up on published. Torque is interesting - and peaks at 4k contrary to spec, but in line with some of the subjective reports and unfashionably high these days.

I’d expect that car to have the ppf like the uk cars due to EU regs? If so that’s good news for us if they’re all coming out like that.
