My brain now needs a reboot. It's staggeringly good.
It's absolutely incredible innit? Mine's on order for April '15 delivery. Still deliberating on the colour. banghead

know this has been for sale for a while, I really rather like it and it seems reasonably priced @ £4250!

I often wonder how much more it would cost to run one a 3/4 year old e9x m3 as a daily for 15kpa for two years, over one of these, assumed both were kept in top mechanical nick ( the cost of the e36 and the spend required to get it good would be a sizeable deposit...)
I know what you mean. Was chatting to my pal over a beer last night, He mentioned that his F10 M5 has a monthly cost of £560. I remember when I had my 130 that the finance on that was £330. on a £15,000 vs. £80,000 car cost.
Was that like-for-like in terms of deposit and final payment though? You can make the monthlies anything you want by playing with the other variables.

Yep - slippery.

IMO the best colour is dark grey with blue accents, with the turbine wheels. Looks properly awesome.

Is it so awfully wrong that I'd want one in Zinnobar Red, M1 style?

Or brahn. With white leather. Natural finish/unvarnished wood. Blue details on both.

Speaking to the salesman, apparently BMW have had over 1000 requests to offer the Solar Orange offered on the i3. Surely with that many requests and the paint already in production on a similarly-constructed car, it's a no-brainer isn't it?

Well no, BMW have said no. Idiots.

Weird innit? The grey and the white are the 2 I'm deffo not going for. I like the blue but there's something about the silver that takes it right to the original look of the concept vehicle. I like that.

It's like the original Boxster concept.....still best!.....

IMO

E9X>E46>E36 because up to a point depreciation is always the biggest cost. I think running costs would be in the same order but E46 and E9X would come closer due to longer service intervals on the E9X and the option of the service inclusive packs. I never bought E9X but from the sums I did I couldn't make it stack up vs an E46, which I did buy, overall.

The 36 will be a good chunk cheaper now, but in another couple of years it'll be a lot closer, if not t'other way around.

I'm bored of cars.

Things DJRC learnt today:
A) bloody hell the latest GT3 is quick!
B) The Graf stacks up well against a motor over three times its price
C) Said GT3 sounds absolutely fking mental at high revs, what a scream! Its something special to make itself heard over an AMG V8.

A thoroughly enjoyable 30min follow me leader jaunt north up the A34 tonight coming home from Pompey. Wish I had the roof down to have enjoyed it more.

I've been meaning to post this for a while: saw it in Brighton.

Re costs on E36 M3s against an E9x?
My colleague has a 92 M3 and says (I'm not sure if this is true maybe Gruber can confirm) that the service intervals are longer then the 36/46 and cost less.
There would be very little upkeep cost and you'd have a warranty for the expected unexpected.

I know I bleat on about my tales of financial woe on my E36 but £2k this year and it's back in with a clonk from the rear and it's on its last green light before an I2 so that's going to around a grand plus whatever they find. £3k + for just keeping a rusty old BMW running ex tyres etc. is a bit of a pain.
I will be reviewing it next year...

Edited to add, mine is a full service history car that had been properly looked after however it does have 150k on it.

A little big of advice please chaps if you don't mind? smile

I need to sell my beloved Alpina B3 quickly as we are emigrating much much sooner that anticipated, January! :O

The market for such a car where I live (Dublin, Ireland) is very small as the tax here is over 1800 euro pa!

So, eBay is my plan... never bought or sold there before but seems the best way to show it off, I have tried to explain how to register it again in the UK (MOT it) and advised on flights and ferry crossing etc, is there anything I am missing?

If I post the ad, can you guys run your luscious beards over it and cast your advice?

You'll get a slap on the wrists if you post your own advert in the forums, so I wouldn't.

However, an advert is fairly easy to write. List the spec, the service history details, the state of the consumables, mention any significant faults and take some decent pictures.

Price it correctly and it shouldn't hang around.

Cheers! Good job I asked first! biggrin

Going to start it low, no reserve and a 10 day auction, that should shift it frown
