I usually reverse into a bay with nothing behind it, i.e. bushes etc, but if I have to reverse into a bay like this one, (I never ever drive in), I always get out and look in case I am overhanging the bay behind me, not exactly rocket science, and you never know when. PH is lurking
I’m with you on the never driving in, (unless at a supermarket, where access to the boot will be required), I’ve seen people of both sexes take 3, 4, or 5 bites at driving into an easy spot, which they probably could have reversed into in one go.Uncool said:

because its not actually parked on the road, its off road
The double yellow line applies from the property curtilage up to the road, so yes parking there is no different from parking on the road as they are both covered by the double yellow lines.Davislove said:

As already pointed out, the road starts where the wall ends. It's just that part of the road has a designated area solely for the use of pedestrians. The road has double yellow lines on it. The area designated solely for the use of pedestrians has a van on it.

It doesn't just need a ticket, it needs to be towed away asap. It's a twofer and worthy of a place in this thread if not a ticket.
Someone I know uses a wheelchair. On one road were this was common, he once went up to someone's door to get them to move their car off the pavement.
