I’m still tempted by one of these: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...

Looks rather comfortable.

He did an w220 s class launch at a dealer I worked for
At the time, even the dealer principle called him an arrogant rude obnoxious prick, I said hello to him whilst we were setting up the showroom for a closed evening event, he said I don’t talk to anybody other than the dp and walked off lol total prick

It’s a while since we‘ve had an appropriately-deployed use of the word ‘throbber’ in the thread. Consider it deployed.

I know Max Power isn't very thread but in my formative years I was a fervent reader. They always used to take the piss out of Quentin Wilson in it biggrin I think he criticised owners of modified Fiat Uno's which set a rather large ball rolling laugh

This being the internet-o-sphere, I'll obviously treat these facts with as much credibility as I afford the MOT history of a car I like but that has had a plate change. I nonetheless feel slightly sad that there's yet another person that moves from the good egg to the throbber side of the ledger. I bow to thread wisdom and will now not buy The Quent a pint. He'll be gutted, I'm sure.

Quentin once bought a goose for an impoverished family for Christmas. In Victorian England.

Oh hang on that might not be true.

SJ and Sterillium like to cast a wide, wide net. They dream big and I like their style.

I met QW many years ago and was asked to look after him, his wife and his very young children (baby & toddler iirc) for a few hours, he was lovely, quite charming and even obliged me by coming to my car and doing a Top Gear style piece to my camcorder about it ('49 MKVI), then we had afternoon tea. My experience was good. I've heard a few things that might suggest he's not a perfect Gent, but let he who is without etc...

If I had a daughter I would want to call her Mercedes. It's a lovely Spanish name. Probably works better with a Spanish surname though.

Yes, it's also the name of one of the main characters in The Count of Monte Cristo. But yes, I think sir name matters. Mercedes Wilson doesn't QUITE have that ring to it, does it. Less "Mediterranean beauty" and more "Essex girl"

I apologise to any of you from Essex.

Hi Quentin!

I wonder if the names of his kids were the back seat of the car in which they were conceived (Max apart of course).
