This... width is fine, it's the stupidly low profile tyres that make them look st.
Getting decent tyres in a 60 profile is harder than you’d think. And getting big enough brakes to stop a couple of tons with 600+ hp more than once in 15” wheels is also a problem.

16 or 17" with a 40 or 45 profile would look much better imho.

ETA: 245/45/17 fits perfectly from the 245/35/19 that's on it now. Perfect.

Beautiful apart from being completely ruined by the ridiculously large wheels and gash calipers. Sometimes less is more...
The calipers need to match the colour of the leather or be body coloured.

Not a modified car. It was built that way for a specific race series which never happened. There's no 164 in there apart from maybe an ashtray. This thread is strange - so many competition cars - surely it's supposed to be production cars which have been modified by owners?
Yep. Was supposed to be a support race for F1 but correct. Never materialised

Here it is at FOS a few years back

Another other wheel related problem.

The overall diameter of wheel and tyre is so large and the stupid want for air suspension so it can sit on the ground when parked, means the wheels have to be so inboard of the arch that it looks crap.

There's some great footage of this thing on YT, well worth hunting out just for the noise it makes!

It was the E60 which was SMG-only (in Europe at least, the US got a manual option).
There was never a production E39 M5 estate, so this one will be M5 running gear grafted into another E39.

Well deserved place in this thread.

400bhp Pug 206 you say? Ok.

Edit: Because this made me chuckle - ".......Two rear outer seat isofix location points"

Crikey, I bet that's a handful when fully lit.

Appreciate it's hard to price something that's had so much custom work, but given the other ~400bhp cars you could have for a similar investment, seems a little steep to me?

Fabulous!

Given the price of restomod Porsche’s and Alfsholics (now over 300k for a top spec build), it’s actually decent value!

Rocket.

Love the idea but unless I am mistaken it's a sales pitch for building such a car rather than a 'physical' car ?

I've seen a couple of those recently- opportunities to "commission" renders or ideas people have made/had as "one-of-a-kind" projects. Frankly, they reek of desperation.

The shpiel was total bks. Just 'cos it's got Lotus suspension/chassis, means diddly squat. Could still handle like a pig.

Indeed. I thought it might involve dropping a Renault shell onto a full Elise chassis (somehow!). A promise of grafting some suspension onto an old 80s Renault monocoque is, well... frown
