This has been sat on my phone for a couple of weeks. The Volvo is the mayor's official car, it has been parked in a cycle lane just at the exit of a bus stop, the bus in the picture was leaving the bus stop and was struggling to get past.
To get by, the mayor's driver was sat in it without thinking to maybe move forward. We couldn't get past the bus on the left until the other bus had gone, so for a moment he caused traffic to come to a standstill.

Reminds me of my old work car park. Along one of the site roads there was a row of spaces like that but they were painted too small, so if two (even small) cars were parked in adjacent bays you couldn't open the doors hehe Usually people would park like the above picture and only loose 1 or 2 spaces, but every now and then the 'thickies' would get in early and take up every other space leaving half of them unusable :rollyes:

Today's egit, a parked abandoned beema, the car on the left of the pic is legally waiting in a Taxi bay. Quite a busy road as well, but it's probably one of the "I won't be a minute" brigade. And a fully paid up member of the "I can't park for st" club.

A prime candidate for 'name and shame', if ever there was one.
It's a footpath isn't it? She should be prosecuted for obstruction.

Parked in the road where I live.
It's starting to annoy me a little now as you pretty much have to exit the junction on the wrong side of the road.
Admittedly it's a quiet cul de sac of a dozen or so houses but when you are back and forth from your house a few times a day it's a nuisance.
Been parked in same spot for best part of a week now.

Guess if he parked a bit further back, he would have to walk further to his gate biggrin

Did Gulliver have a car? If so, those spaces are way too small.

Have you checked it's taxed/MOTed? Reported it on the 101 police number? If it's still there in a fortnight, report it as abandoned.

I hadn't bothered but just had a quick look and all is fine. The van is local, the chap probably lives along the adjoining road (where driveways are small and on-road parking a bit limited).

I don't think I would bother the police with something like this. The council have a report illegal parking on-line thingy but that seems more parking permit/yellow line orientated.

Maybe they think that if they're not actually parked on the yellow lines, then it's ok.

Or maybe they're a

OK I guess that's rule 250, parking at night. Strangely I'm often mildly irritated by cars parked at night against the traffic flow but never by people parked near a junction. I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for it either.

Now I'm not sure if serious:

Rule 243: DO NOT stop or park: •opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space
