If GT3, 996 every time

If Carrera, 997 every time

Interesting, isn't it? I have always dismissed none GT 911s on the basis of plastic engines.

Lately, like many others, PPBB's amazing thread, has me looking at 3.4 996 again. £15k of 996 3.4 vs £12k of E46 M3 is an interesting internal dialogue. Then I imagine I actually have £12k or £15k for that matter. I'm not sure which one I'd pick.

Sunday I saw 3x 996 4S and for the umpteenth time I realised it is one of the best looking modern 911s...

In other news - saw my first in the flesh Corvette C7 Gran Sport in Victory Red yesterday. Stunning!!! Yeeeha! If I were in the market for a new car no Pork will even get a look in...

I love my 996 C2.

Are any of you guys heading to Brooklands on Sunday for the breakfast meet and hillclimb?

I don't know if this belongs in this thread, the cars you didn't know existed until a few minutes ago thread, or the childish things that amuse you thread because the description begins with the word Årsmodell.

Those of you who browse BAT will have guessed how I stumbled upon this, and I know absolutely nothing about it other than I want it

There's something about that, particularly the back half which rings bells and I can't think where I recognise it from. Hopefully someone can put me out of my misery.

There's a bit of that, but no. Maybe it was a concept.

Reminds me of a Peugeot 405 T16 GR Pikes Peak, same rear end.

Just for fun and my first experience of sticky rubber on a standard road car. I cant believe i didn't try this sooner. Is it this easy to make any road car exciting?

Absolutely nothing the matter with those tyres in the rain.

Depends on your definition of exciting?

I’d rather have rwd and no grip...

I’m currently having the same dilemma... with very similar numbers. A 911 still makes me a little nervous on the engine reliability front.

I’ve also been seriously considering a 968 Sport at £15/16k if I can find a decent one.

Of course it changes on an almost daily basis! I’m currently swaying towards the 968, but I realise all of the above can chuck some bills.

What I’d love is a Z3M coupe, but they are now firmly out of reach.

Nope. Maybe something a bit later.

It's really bugging me. It will come when I least expect it.

Same with the 996. An S54 can spin a bearing though. And the subframe. And and.

In the context of our earlier conversations on the thread, a 968 isn't value to me at £16k - not when a 911 is the same or less.

Right up there.
