Rubber neckers, hate them.
Came off a 50mph roundabout in l1 and someone along side me in l2 matching speeds, there's a recovery truck half in my lane hidden behind another car in l2 towing a car out of a bush so im on the brakes to slow down behind the second car in l2.
What does second car in l2 do? Slow down to look at it meaning I have to stop on a 50mph road just off a roundabout that people come flying around too quickly. (hence why a car being towed upside down out of a bunch) because mr honda crv is being a nosy sod.

Black with black wheels? That'll be me, It was 1st to 3rd as 2nd has gone missing. The family hack needs a new (midland) gearbox after 160,000 miles it was on it's way to be fixed :-)People with mucky headlights, tail lights, number plates and mirrors.
Last night coming home from Sutton the M25 was awash with twunts who looked like they had their main beams up all the time and tail lights so mucky you couldn't tell if they were on, braking or indicating.
My car was clean when I left. A bit of a state when I arrived so before I headed back I took ten seconds and couple of glass wipes to make sure I could see and be seen. I repeated this when I stopped for Noodles and coffee at the M11 services.
Okay the car looks like I've finished an endurance race now and needs washing again but the lights, number plates and mirrors are clean.
Am I the only one who drives with due care and attention these days?

If I'm the voice of reason now; how screwed does that make everyone else?

My cars pretty minging at the moment, but I always make sure my lights, plate and mirrors are clean. I saw several cars who were just asking for a tug from Plod due to completwly ineligible plates, crap covered lights, etc.Not sheds either.I saw a 16 plate Range Rover Sport and several E Class Merc's that looked as though they'd been on a rally stage.biggrinLast night coming home from Sutton the M25 was awash with twunts who looked like they had their main beams up all the time and tail lights so mucky you couldn't tell if they were on, braking or indicating.

Clean the headlights/tail lights only. The number plate can get as dirty as it wants till I get pulled over and forced to wipe it. Becomes fairly unreadable after 30 miles or so anyway.

The idiot in the silver Kia Picanto on the A34 this morning who rear ended a silver Micra at East Ilsley. The resulting tailbacks went on for miles and miles. Surely it's not difficult to go from A to B, without crashing?
I'll hazard a guess based on the car. Texting or Facebook. These days it appears to be anyone with a Seat (the Ibiza mainly but there's a growing trend amongst the Leon crowd), certainly seem to have taken over from anything with a BMW or Audi badge, as an aside I've never seen so many Audi's using their indicators including the optional, but entirely standard, blinkers!
Yesterday a white Ibiza over took on a blind left hander into thirty zone at around fifty just here. At that time of the morning there's usually always something coming the other way. It's never exactly been the widest of roads and only seems to be getting narrower as cars increase their girth (buses generally now have to slow right down on the bends if there's a vehicle coming in the other direction).
Same car on the other side of Bishop Auckland (he didn't get far) overtook a artic just past the Coundon Bypass (again a blind right hander) forcing it to slam the anchors on and giving the poor bd coming the other way a brown trouser moment as he jinked back on to the correct side of the road.

My car looks how you describe at all times at this time of year. I dont want to stand in freezing cold to wash my car when my half mile dirt track makes it filthy anyway.

You are aware its a £100 fine if plod aren't feeling charitable, yes? I'd go for a quick swipe with a wipe (I use baby wipes as they're cheap as chips) and save the cash and hassle.Clean the headlights/tail lights only. Today's knob was the tractor driver who parked mostly blocking the road (1/2 car width left) to load several tonnes of dirt into a trailer. Not exactly a 2 minute job, so why he thought it would be fine I don't know. When I pulled up he did reluctantly reverse a few extra feet to allow traffic to pass. Not sure why he didn't just do that in the first place! For added fun, it was a single track road so a massive pain to even turn around.

In their 'minds' it's because I can.
Even if there is a space that's more than adequate!!

Passing on the left is already legal if you're maintaining pace with traffic in that lane. If you come up against a slow-mover, drop back a little, move left, pass at a reasonable pace (not shooting past) and carry on your way. If there's nothing to the left of you, you should have been in the left lane anyway ;-)
This used to happen on the A31 across the New Forest. One morning going to work I was in the inside lane doing about 60mph, the outside lane was nose to tail doing the usual concertina dance. The amazing thing was there was nothing as far as I could see ahead of me and nothing behind me in the inside lane. So there I was all on my own so I just kept going at my constant speed! It really pissed off a few of the drivers in the outside lane but what's the point in being in a nose to tail queue that keeps speeding up and then braking when the inside lane was empty!!!! romeogolf said:

Now it makes sense. Why clean your number plates when you can defraud the ANPR out of £2.50?

Yes, sometimes wonder why they bothered with lane 1, there seems to be times where absolutely no one will use it along that stretch!1. The ambulance chaser in the Fiesta. Was on a DC coming up to a junction when I spot an ambulance coming up behind, nothing in front of me so I pulled over onto the centre hatchings so the ambulance wouldn't be held up by me if the lights changed to red. The red Fiesta behind me did the same. Ambulance went past and just as I went to pull out back into my lane the Fiesta shot past me and proceeded to chase the ambulance up the DC at well over the posted 40 limit.
2. The old boy in the Toyota Corolla who was in the outside lane of the DC further up where it's a 60. We're both passing traffic on the inside lane albeit slowly as we're only doing 45. I'm behind, good gap, he goes to move over but then straddles the 2 lanes, he gradually moves up but I need the left lane so push up to 60 in the hope of moving over in front (there's no space behind) but he matches my speed, I start to brake to slip in behind now there's a gap but he forces me to stay in the outside lane and I miss my turning.

Any chance of posting the dash cams of these, bound to be riveting 2. The old boy in the Toyota Corolla who was in the outside lane of the DC further up where it's a 60.
