nonsequitur, do you remember when some cars only had one wing/door mirror?
I suspect he will remember when they had none at all!

I remember when ad’s for cars had things like HRW, mirrors, radio, seatbelts, even heater!!

I was born in the 60’s btwbiggrin
If I remember correctly, as I was born in the 40's, none of the above were featured on my father's cars.Or indeed, apart from a heater, on my first car. driving
My first car had mirrors and a heater. None of the rest.

The woman in front of me today in her black convertible Audi TT weaving down the road.
Phone on a hands free mount in the corner of the windscreen and she was chatting away on a "Video" phone call, sudden braking and turned left off a dual carriageway
Indicator went on half way through the turn! rolleyes Esher

Young Girl in Blue Nissan Micra, hands free phone mount watching either a film or pop video while driving. Malden Rushett, nr Epsom.

And another Young Girl at the same traffic light Junction at Malden Rushett, turning right across in front of me, right hand holding mobile phone to her ear with zero attempt to hide it.

WTF is the matter with this lot!
I suppose if you've spent many years during which your mobile device has been more important than anything else, you will continue this behaviour whilst driving. I genuinely think that many drivers believe they can hold conversations, watch video clips and so on and that they are still OK to drive. They honestly don't think they are doing anything wrong - well, they know it's illegal, but the chances of enforcement are close to zero.
The scary thing is, it'll get worse, much worse.

The heavier the penalties for using a mobile phone, the more people will evade the issue by texting with the device on their lap or held down out of sight (or so they think). The unintended consequence is that will be an increase in the number of accidents .... knobs all of them

Oh, I don't know. Several pages of people arguing that less visibility isn't less ideal does the trick, I reckon.

Best tell all of the car manufacturers that they can go ahead and delete all of those expensive windows. Apart from the ones that are purely aesthetic, obviously.

Cheers, Jim

you've utterly missed my point. I am saying he doesn't get to go around in life treating people with genuine mental illness as a joke, just because he doesn't fking understand it or doesn't think it's real. It isn't a 'free speech' or 'oo poor offended snowflakes' argument, it's quite simply being a .
I haven't. You've missed mine.

If he 'doesn't get to do it', what's stopping him?

You might think he's being a , but that changes precisely fk all. You've ranted about it here, and told him he can't behave like that, and yet, he can, and you've changed nothing.

The world is an unfair place.
Free speech, offence being a choice and all that, yes. However you have to take stock when you say something so completely wrong, so completely a relic of the 1970s, so dismissive of something so commonplace... i have no idea why more people haven't jumped on him. If I said something like "child cancer sufferers, bunch of fking blaggers with their 'make a wish foundation holidays' what a fking joke, give them a few paracetamol and tell them to fk off back to school the baldy little work-shy bds" now I would expect to be roundly and comprehensively chastised, and rightly so. Such views are so abhorrent that they don't belong anywhere. Mental illness unfortunately is still a bit of a joke or made up, to many people. The attitude needs to change, all the words do is just convey the archaic attitude we still seem to have towards it. So say what you fking want, but you need to change your mind.

I fully support your right to be an offended scouser.

this is also a joke for the humour impaired, I first thought it was a Merv Hughes lookalike competition.

Anyway, back to the original idea of the thread............

People that are SO lazy when parking that they leave the wheel at an angle against the kerb and tyre wedged right up against it. F*** knows what sort of damage that's gonna cause by persistently doing that.

You obviously forgot the rule that BMW drivers are FAR more important than any other road user. You can tell this because they are so immensely successful that they have got to BMW level in their company scheme and anyone that doesn't have one is just worthless.
