The magazine I struggle to find in newsagents is Auto Italia.

Hm, that's a thought I'll subscribe.

They always have loads of copies in the places by us. Never seem to sell many.

They do have some good group tests etc in usually though

I am not at all surprised at Top gear sales. It taps into the fact that, just like its TV namesake, it is for people who actually aren't really interested in cars but suffer from FOMO

TG is dreadful, it’s a comic aimed at the teen market.

Just tried Readly as a trial on my Sony Experia Z tablet.

Not impressed really, flicking through on that did nothing for me compared to a physical mag.

I wasn't able to see both pages at once and it just didn't seem the same.

I also look at a screen all day as it is enough, not sure I want more screen time when I get home.

A shame as I most spend 30-40 pounds a month on magazines!

Another thing was that it made me realise how quickly i could flick through a mag without being bothered...

I also thought the EVO comment about ECOTY from the editor was a bit of an embarrasment to be honest, and the mag was pretty MEH.

Actually that was one of the few things that did annoy me. It was rather an arrogant "We think we got it right and had plenty who supported it, but we'll change it next time for all you moaners" type of statement

Does the screen rotate with the device, on the iPad you see both pages if it’s rotated as the view becomes landscape. Works really well on my iPad Air.

Thanks for the reply Boxer (aka SSO). I was the one who asked if you were still in Evo

Your updates were one of the best parts of Evo, after Harry left (especially his Zonda ownership experience) and although Simon George posted, they were very rare.
Good luck with your website and again like the story behind the name. Nice to be able to do something like that purely for pleasure and sod any mistakes etc...
Thanks. I just posted a new article on using the McLaren 650S as a daily driver. http://karenable.com

I read last months Evo with the car of the year, and was very disappointed. It would have been better just to give up on the whole idea than do what they did.

After many years of buying Evo each month, I had a look through it in Smiths today and the only article that I thought interesting was the Lotus Carlton v Vauxhall. I always find Meaden and Porter enjoyable to read, but decided the content didn't make it worth buying. It is partly due to the "Evo" cars being released now as they are all automatic/German/very heavy/expensive. I would love to see an article comparing the most fun hatchback for less than £10,000 rather than read about another tedious 500bhp 1800kg saloon that normal people can't afford to run let alone buy.

Someone really needs to come through with a digital paper product they seem to have been talking about for years...

I can get a lot of magazines with Amazon Prime but I just haven't used it because I cant handle reading on a screen.

This is the only Mag I buy every month and have every single issue. I mostly get my copy from WH Smith.

Agree, not a fan of the new eCoty format.

So I brought the Australian edition of the mag which contains 90% content from the original UK version and Im pretty disappointed with the new ECOTY. Not a fan of the categories to be honest. I enjoyed ECOTY for throwing in the best of the year regardless of category together for the annual journey. Now every category is wrapped in a few pages and it feels like a lesser mag's annual awards. Without the journey to a part of the world where the cars would be tested alongside each other it's really lost its attraction. Even the main Aussie performance mag Motor does a roadtrip of sorts for their PCOTY and I quite enjoyed reading that recently.

Throw in five pages wasted on a repeat of an article on a test of the Mercedes GT3 which was a cover piece in the Australian issue last year and it doesn't go down well. After buying the mag month in month out since issue 46 the urge to stop buying the mag is pretty strong.

I wonder if it was a logistics issue: getting a Chiron and 720 in the same place would have been tough.

I doubt it, the manufacturers are normally very cooperative for those sorts of test. Also know a few owners who have both and could have been approached.

See, I told you so. It was a January thing.

New issue, lots of John Barker, new supercar owner with an interesting stable, good techie article on touring cars. Lots of driving in Wales.

It's back where it should be.

Just been flicking through it & this looks like a good edition. Best of all Henry’s written an article on the back page!

Having waited two months for a response from evo on a problem I’ve been having with downloading the digital copy, and that response still not resolving the problem, I have finally cancelled my subscription. I’ve been reading evo for about 15 years now.

I’ve taken the advice of others on here and got a Readly subscription. All the magazines I read are on there (even Rouleur, which surprised me), plus a few that I used to read but haven’t paid for in a while. The app is great too.

Between that and my ‘free’ Times subscription, I probably won’t ever buy a magazine or paper again.
