We've seen it before on a classified ad, but now on auction with starting bid of £900. How much will it make?

If it had started lower I may have put a bid in; worth it to make one working car out of two. grumpy

Yes read in readers rides you are having a spot of bother. Hope you manage to get it sorted economically. Got circa 220 miles out of my last 1/2 tank (£70) which, at 140p pr litre, I think is around 19mpg which I can live with. Put a few miles on the old girl now, hard not to, she just munches them up - so comfortable and easy to cover big distances quickly.

Nice.

I'm liking the look of this too:

Ebay Link

Shame the numberplate doesn't come with it, although it doesn't suit that particular car, i can think of what it might...

The fact we have had it before doesn't stop me loving it.

That is very nice.

I may have made enquiries about an Alpina last night...

ears

I may have been looking at houses with a garage last night. I'm trying to get some ducks in a row, to enable myself to spend more money on old cars in the future. Right now, on street permit parking doesn't make it worthwhile really. Unfortunately.

If I get a response i'll share with the thread - heard nothing back as of yet - hate it when people don't include phone numbers in adverts!

I'm lucky to have off road parking (and a garage which can accommodate 1 big car) which makes having a few cars knocking around 'ok'. Would ideally like a old barn or unit somewhere though so I could fill it up with old BMW's!

I reckon that's canary wharf too, so hopefully some silly rich broker type has owned it.

More like some Essex wide boy has driven it down there and taken a few snaps with his i-phone.

Don't keep your hopes up. A mate of mine works at Canary Wharf and has probably the worst RX-8 on the road today. hehe

Mind you, he's probably an exception to the rule.

I did say hopefully!! My bro works there too and has zero car enthusiasm. Last time I saw his focus all 4 tyres were flat.

Threadists.

As you can probably tell from my recent postings I'm on the hunt for a nice E39 Touring. This is in the belief that for ~4k it's the nicest family sized estate out there. Are there any others I should be considering at this price or should I just wait for a decent one to come along?

I'm looking too. '39, Aero or Legacy/OutbackR are all that's on the list now. The Subaru will probably win through though cos it'll be newer, 4x4 and that boring Japanese reliability.

Yes have considered both of those and ruled them out tbh. Have you driven an Aero? I found it strangely uninvolving and a bit anodine. The Subaru looks a bit... I don't know. Once you eliminate >100k and >7 yr old examples the choice is a bit thin and they're not cheap. Interiors also very 'Japanese'.

Exactly why I bought mine.

What engine / gearbox / SE / Sport / leather colour etc preferences do you have?

Or how would you like an Avensis estate with nutter-bd Turbo 4WD running gear and a wicked bodykit that you can tell people "it's not chav, it was factory fitted"?

fking loads is the answer, I bet.
