Best Smoker Barges - 1 - 5 Large [Vol 3]
Discussion
Ahh, I don't mind over 100k miles.
I like the look of the newer ones. Legacy's a step up inside from the Forester inside. This 3.0R is a helluva lot of family estate for £3.5!
Prefer black interior though

Also, not sure I'd trust the missus with a minty E39!

I'm liking the look of this too:

Shame the numberplate doesn't come with it, although it doesn't suit that particular car, i can think of what it might...
Can anyone see where this is advertised elsewhere? It says its in Farnborough and i work in farnborough!!! Would be interested in seeing what they offer for the Teg trade in.I'm liking the look of this too:

When I get back from visiting Cat's family and catch up at work I think I'll be servicing the E34 and selling it. As lovely as the manual box is, it's tedious if I get stuck in traffic going to work. I'll just use the family runaround (Fiat Tipo FTW!) and if the right barge pops up (E32/E38/W140/etc..) for the right price I'll bag me one of them.

Threadists.
As you can probably tell from my recent postings I'm on the hunt for a nice E39 Touring. This is in the belief that for ~4k it's the nicest family sized estate out there. Are there any others I should be considering at this price or should I just wait for a decent one to come along?

What engine / gearbox / SE / Sport / leather colour etc preferences do you have?
530 Sport
530 SE
540
525 Sport
525 SE
Something like that? Although SEs tend to be a fair chunk cheaper than Sports so may gravitate to one of those...
Only other caveat at the mo that I can think of is no beige leather.
Oh, and I would prefer Isofix in the rear which from looking around the ads and seeing pictures of the rear seats seems to be 2002- on?

I understand about the beige leather, it's not my cup of tea either.530 SE

Mine is a 2002 and has Isofix, but I didn't look at many before I bought. I have them more through good luck than good judgement. I'll keep an eye out for you...

I'm fairly relaxed about it actually, I'd prefer to buy on condition. I suppose ideally the preference order would be:

530 SE

525 Sport

I've told you before Hornet, buy an SE and modify the suspension and/or wheels. As you well know, barges of this age need a suspension refresh anyway so you might as well save yourself some money for the job and buy the SE spec. And balls to your Sport bumpers too. 530 Sport

Yes, I posted the Spanish one yesterday which really appeals and recognise your 2nd one. This one looks good too but has been for sale for an age so I suspect its not as good as it looks in the pics. Its also pre-Isofix by the looks - which is not a deal breaker, more a preference.hornetrider said:

I didn't like the wheels on that one, along with your reasons. I'm not sure about the little boot spoiler thing. What's the deal with that? I know I don't have one on mine...phil_cardiff said:

Funny you should say that - perfick spec for me I think would be SE suspension, with a nice set of wheels and Sport bumpers.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
