N1 spotted today

If I was offered N1 or 1N I would definitely choose N1 for the historical aspect. Just before I changed my mind at the last minute so I could announce I was IN at work or home!laugh
I'm not sure what the story is behind 1N. It was never sold at a DVLA auction so it must be an original issue at some point. However, all the other single singles 2N to 9N were sold at auction!

Diplomatic plate maybe. confused

Good point. Have to admit I missed that one. 2 P is similar, not an auction plate but the rest were. It was a special DVLA issue that was subsequently sold on.

- Spotted 2 P recently, no pic though.
Same company with this one

On that theme I saw a newish 7 series recently with the plate 1 BMW, near Farnborough where BMW are based so likely their car.
It is. My wife works for BMW and she was lucky enough to have use of matching silver 7series' 1 BMW and 2 BMW as our wedding cars several years ago.

The company owns several single singles as 'stock plates' so they tend to put them on their company cars.

The asking price for 3D is a bit steep at £1.1m. yikes

I think they've just increased the price of 2P to £450k!

Would love to get some advice on a number plate. The number plate is LAM80 and currently sits on my father-in-laws Countach. He passed away last month and the car and the plate are being sold separately.

I understand it could be worth a decent amount, but how do we determine the value? Would auction be the best place for it?

Here is the plate

Not sure if you will see this post, but if you do, out of curiosity did your FiL buy the plate separately to the car?

Reason for asking, 30-odd years ago, there was a dealership on Nuthall Road in Nottingham called Wheelhouse which had a bright pink Countach in the window for several months. Absolutely positive that car had the same LAM 80 plate on it back then.
@ozzyr1

No I believe the story was that he was just driving and an old Astra or Cavalier or something which had the plate on. He turned the car around and followed the guy and asked to buy his car outright with the plate. So that's basically how he came to get the plate.

My father in law sold his old Astra once to someone who said he had to have it and paid over the odds for the car, which my FIL sold him.
Turned out he wanted the plate, A110WME, because he was a butler...
