I was betting on him turning that over. What possesses people?
Deliberate undertake, or suddenly finds a nearly stationary car in front of him because he/she wasn't paying attention? I was nearly rear ended by one last year who was definitely gawping at something on the opposite verge.
I'm going with not paying attention and having nowhere to go. Or the driver just being a dick and using his 4x4 to go full offroad

Speaking of Cycling Mikey, someone gets quite unhappy with him here...

Zip it forward. Cabbie protests, until he runs out of ideas.
He’s literally just riding round in circles up and down the cars to try and catch people in stand still traffic, not justifying the phone use but he’s a top class moron, can’t believe he hasn’t already been lamped and had his camera taken.
Those he catches probably do the same when they are driving, personally I dont do it and I support Micky, we all know the rules so why do it?

I think that the key point here is that if they are caught by the Police/authorities, well it's a fair cop but if you have some self-entitled prick hiding behind a camera it's quite another. He's no different from all those DCWs who shout 'You're on dashcam!" and hide behind the safety of the camera whereas before they'd just shut up or moan to their mate in the pub.

The issue is for the authorities to deal with, not people like him.

Like you, I do wonder how long before a news story of him being battered by some 'unknown assailant' and we all say "Ah well he had it coming."

They do it because they think they are more than likely to get away with it (they probably have up until that point...), despite knowing it's both illegal and dangerous...hence the angry reactions when they get a camera shoved in their mush and are held to account for their transgression biglaugh

Can't argue with any of that.

I think a lot of the antipathy comes from feeling like a fellow citizen is out there trying to catch you out / grass you up - it all feels very 1984 / Nazi Germany. And I don't want to live in that sort of society, as it's not a society - it becomes a collection of suspicious and distrustful individuals.

The problem is that we SHOULD have more coppers out there as a deterrent - people actually getting caught and done for it would pretty quickly make it far less common, the same as happened with drink driving. Instead we get petty little wannabe's like Mikey, who have no intrinsic authority yet conduct themselves in a manner almost designed to wind others up.

There's not enough Police on the road and that's why people do it, same as with everything else.

if/when they actually get cameras to do this with AI that'll be the next thing complained about.. "if it's caught by a human then it's a fair cop".

Just don't do it - simple.

Would people feel the same then if I set my cruise to 70mph on a motorway and send a clip of every single person that passes me to the police? Yes they are in the wrong and if caught have to face the music but the way he goes about it makes me not want to be on his side. And his voice is stupid laugh

If you want to report someone, just send the footage to the police. Mikey goes looking for trouble, lectures people, acts as judge and jury ("I'll decide what I want to do with [the footage]"), then uploads it to his monetised channel where he only allows positive comments. So whilst he may be technically correct, so was that kid in school who would run to teacher when they heard you say a rude word, and everyone hated them as well.

This is my view too. Running red lights, driving whilst drunk/drugged/Facebooking/looking for the next job on Uber/Nibbling on a customer's tepid McDonalds, driving in a generally Bradford style is all crap and should be punished.

But, without Police out there to enforce the rules people are going to carry on with the antisocial business and won't get caught even when they hurt others.

hes been chased a few times , theres always the possibility he crosses the wrong eastern European who gets the points and fine , then goes out in search of Mickey , not difficult to spot always lurking around Hyde park , then suddenly moped rider runs him off the road , whilst spraying a noxious substance , Don't defend Mobile phone use , but mostly these are in stationary traffic

He's hardly "judge and jury" when he has absolutely no influence over what happens when he sends it off.

Good ol' Mikey...

When he eventually meets someone unhinged I suspect it is unlikely he'll be missed. Not that I condone violence of course!

loads of people overlook the FACT that as he cycles around he IS NOT concentrating on cycling and what goes on around him. He's concentrating on filming and catching people out.

This is Riding without due care and attention if there were such a charge and he is be having like a complete hypocrite.

6 points for getting caught driving while holding a phone is pretty much a moron filter at the moment. It's so well publicised that everybody who drives should know to either get a cradle mount, or leave the whatsapp/youtube/hookers/porn until you park up. It makes no difference whether you are caught by a traffic officer in a car, a police officer on a bus, an "AI camera" or Mikey.

6 points for holding a phone.....makes me laugh. Yet you can change channels on the radio, insert a cd or whatever...fine! I had a car t bone me a while ago, on my motorbike. She saw me, pulled across me. No one infront, no one behind. Couldnt wait an extra 5 seconds for me to pass. CPS gave her a £120 fine and 3 points! BUT holding a phone YOUR A CRIMINAL.

Nobody uses their phone by accident. They must be the easiest points to avoid ever.

I do wonder if the best way to make CM realise what a knob he is being is for someone to follow him around, filming every minor infraction he breaks. After doing so, collate them and send to the police. See how he likes being on the receiving end of someone being a tell tale tit.
