Never been a fan of Rovers, but starting to warm to them recently, this one is great! I'll follow the price with interest. Who would have thought an old unremembered Rover would fetch so much money?

Granada looks a good shout too, nice condition.
My headteacher at primary school (~1990) had an 820i in exact same colour scheme. Good nostalgia.

On to more moderns, I love a W219 CLS and this is one of the best specced I have ever seen in a 320 CDI:

Looks like DISTRONIC, AIRMATIC, cooled & heated seats, AMG pack, Xenons, Parktronic and a sunroof. No keyless go but I don't care for that anyway! A bit over budget but still lovely.

I showed the 827Si to my dad. He said he'd love another Vitesse, but not for 10k!

I had a CLS Shooting Brake in Hyacinth Red with Silk Beige leather. I like a bit of colour biggrin

This featured before, but the price would indicate it qualifies for this thread:

I mentioned it in another thread but anyway, my friend just bought one of these for £250! It's been laid up for quite a while and needs a fair amount of work, but it drives well apparently.

Is that a leaper on the bonnet about a foot from the scuttle??? Better budget for bodywork repairs, leapers always look wk on an XJS but I've never seen anyone mount it in such an odd place.

£500 bargaining point on the asking price to repair the bonnet and blow it over. Would be a shame though as I suspect it's all original paint.

Think I'd leave it there... A bit like the Triumph 2000-style wing mirrors on my Stag, they shouldn't be there but they are part of its history.

This was posted elsewhere on PH, worthy of this thread.

I like it more than I should. I'd probably grow a beard and wear a cardigan to owners clubs events just to feel part of it all.

Oh I don't know, an elderly neighbour years ago had a turbo for years that looked exactly like that, I have to say there was some major desire on my part (replaced it with a high powered Xantia, also in white).

I don't understand the prices of most of the cars on this thread.

Difference is that only a Triumph beard would know the mirrors were wrong, the leaper looks absolutely ridiculous where it's been put on that car. I understand that leapers are "a matter of taste", like X-Factor and german scat porn, but there is no defence for where the holes were drilled through the bonnet to mount that particular example.

Fair point.

Browsing the classifieds again this morning, this one ticks all the boxes! Interesting, Classic, Retro and a barge. I bring you 2.5 tonnes of bad taste.

Yes, reminds me strongly of my old 2.2. They are superb value against Mark II Escorts and Capris.
