Assuming you're not 35 living in Aberdeen with full NCB, thats not necessarily terrible.

Was it as good as the advert looked?

Always get a good feeling when its got FSH, premium rubber and an owner who paid a fortune for it. Sets it apart from the 8 owner sheds.

In that case I'll help out and top the previous offer, I'm sure £1550 would be a fair price for a car which has such hefty insurance premiums wink

Though this one's extremely tempting

Arguably a barge in auto Pina guise. Arguably not a bargain if the 'box could let go soon but still cheap!
Question is whether the box oil is maintenance advise or to fix a known problem, my gut feel says the later otherwise why mention it.

What we all want to know is how good is CD's new 740i?

This could be like a real estate chain.
Just need to find a ph'er for the teg now!

It's about right, I'll of spent over £1000 on it so it's near up to scratch, therefore time to let someone else enjoy my hard earned.

that 740i did look too good VFM - if it's as good as described then that's a biblical bargain.

Looks good value though no interior pics?

Looks like it's had the front wings done (std E46 problem) but the from the pics the match doesn't look 100%. Or it might just be the light.
Might ring and take a look tomorrow.

Cloth and wheel trims. Oddly appealing.

Not to sound rude, but what are you hoping to gain by trading to a similar-spec 740i? Is there really that much of a saving to make it worth it?

That B3 was on ebay with £3,295 as starting bid. There weren't any takers.

On a separate topic did anyone see the E38 feature in this months Total BMW? Bit concerned about the suggestion that a reasonable E38 750il can be had for £800!

Based on the mileage I've done in 740s....yes, there's enough of a saving.

Thanks. That's interesting to know.

Still something so very appealing about a 12 pot though.

Very appealing at that money, only an urban gallon away from me too.

I think that it could be too thirsty to be a daily and it wouldn't do what my current pair do so well (be a stuff carrying shed that I can't kill and an amusing but cheap to run snotter) so would need to be a third car or I'd have to replace something.

I'll see how long it hangs around whistle

It's definitely happening.

Like all BMWs, as time goes on, the early non-sport cars start looking better than their younger siblings.

The E39 has come of age.
