The BAD PARKING thread [vol3]

I fail to see what the problem is - other than being marginally more likely to take a clip from someone cutting the corner way too tightly. It has created a bit of extra space on the side where someone else will park thus minimising chances of taking a ding from their door or an incompetent parking manoeuvre. But should that space become free, when someone parks in there next they will inevitably line up about half a foot away from the side of the car anyway.

On your day off, can you park your car kerbside right next to it for a while. Then go to the Cinema.ATTAK Z said:
I would have backed in so my driver's door opened onto the hatched area
Good point, as I noted if someone pulls into the space next door once it's free there's a pretty good chance that the idiot will park right up on the door anyway since a large number of tards seem to park by lining their nearside up as close as possible (to give them max space to get out) with the vehicle in the next bay irrespective of lines and how difficult they are making access for that driver.Spotted this considerate bit of parking from the local law enforcement. Parked on a yellow line, not sure if thats permitted depending on time of day etc. But the annoying thing is that coming out of this car park you have to turn right as it's one way and narrow. So trying to negate the back of the Police car wasn't particularly easy, hence the yellow line I assume.
Now if this was official Police duty I'd shrug it off that maybe they had to urgently park up but seeing the Police office swaggering back with her Sainsbury's shopping I thought was a bit of a p!ss take.

Or, perhaps, tie the wing mirror to the railings with something not very obvious?Vipers said:
I was going to park here, backed up and got out of the car to check the front, it was overhanging the disabled bay by about 18 inches, so moved elsewhere.
Then this van decides he will park in this space, over hanging the ONLY disabled bay in the Main Street, as I left he was still there over an hour, all doors closed up.
If he had equipment to unload, he could have done it and parked in the car park about 30 yards away.
Moron.
Same place, another contractor, but managed to take the entire disabled space. This is the ONLY space in the street, and there is a car park around the corner. Where's a warden when you want one.Then this van decides he will park in this space, over hanging the ONLY disabled bay in the Main Street, as I left he was still there over an hour, all doors closed up.

Yep no issue with that parking.
Nor me. I always park over the hatching on the end if i get the chance. I do it because;
- It protects my bodywork
- It's the furthest from the entrance I can be, therefore usually a very quiet area of the car park
- The hatching area in question isn't a manouevering area or a sight line, just dictates dead space in the carpark layout
- It protects my bodywork.
