That said, if you're looking for an appliance a barge then I can do you a cracking Passat estate. Utterly forgettable and yet the ideal hack. Even has heated seats.

Probably for the best. Always good to see an advert written ALL IN CAPITALS to inspire confidence. hehe

I guess part of the 'little effort' would be reconnecting this vacuum hose...

Hate the colour, hate the alloys, but the thought of driving a 911 with an interior made of Curly Wurly's appeals massively.

That's no vacuum hose, that's the fuel inlet. Might explain why the CARBS NEED SETTING UP. hehewink

Please don't let this thread be populated with the nonsense that an MX5 is anything other than slow and average. Even stripped out and race ready they're a bit of a handful without being particularly exciting.
Slow, sure. Average, when you consider how cheap they are and what you get for your money, not so much.
I've already had a couple, so I know them well smile

Something just like an Integrale? wink

My morning commute was greatly improved today by spotting one of these trundling through Chelsea. It looked ace. And very small and nimble surrounded by the Chelsea Mum Trucks.

No pics, sorry. I was too busy concentrating on not falling off the mighty Honda put-put.

I saw a black one last night driving past the Bank of England. Looked really great.

Speaking of old Mercs, what a dog-leg gearbox actually like to use? I can't help but think I'd be all over the place due to force of habit.

I guess I'm a bit spoiled in that I drive all sorts of different cars with different configurations but I always find that once I've been driving in a particular car for a few miles it becomes second nature.

I've done a fair few miles in a Healey 100/4 for example and that has a back to front 3spd dog leg box with overdrive on 2nd and 3rd but it soon becomes second nature tbh. By back to front I mean that 1st is towards you and down!

Rip the side steps off and job's a good'un. biggrin
Although almost everything about it is wrong, the whole thing together is very much right.
When you rev them, they rock from side to side. It's great.

Talking of restorations, a friend has just completed his Amilcar. I'll see if I can post a few pictures. It looks lovely.

yes

Just like a regular 6 speeder with first missing. Once you've overcome going down 'n left for first rather than up 'n left when stationary, then you're away.
