That's lovely. I am hugely fond of the E32. My missus cannot fathom why I love them so much.
I like them too. But I'm struggling to like that one on those wheels with all the messing about with the suspension and spacers.

As 'standard' as possible for me please.

Agree, it's a lovely car, they're nice wheels, just not together.

The standard wheels are better, I agree, but I still wouldn't say no to that one on those.

I'm not sure what's worse, the wheels or that gorgeous bodyshell which reminds us that BMW has lost its way in terms of style.

Careful now, listening to the missus will land you with a diesel Quashqai. Trust me I've been there.

I'd take either - I don't mind a bit of sympathetic modifications

I think the E32 is lovely (got very close to buying one before I got the E38) I'd be again torn if I was looking for another 7 series

Designo certainly allowed you to royally tt up your Mercedes if you wanted to!

I'd have given a kidney for choices available like that during my recent research. When did consumers become so fking dull?
Last time I ordered a new BMW, interior colours were brown or black....and they really didn't want you to buy brown.
Exterior colours were silver, black or white...and variations thereof.

I went Carbon black (looks black but has a dark blue undertone) with brown seats. Which was about exciting as you could get.

I now own a silver and black Mercedes.... oh and a burgundy one, but that's as much rust as bodywork these days (because S210).
I've gone for blue with brown too. Not the most avant-garde combo but, as you say, about as good as it gets (unless you're into the M category, but I'm focused on comfort).

I nearly bought an E32 around 5 years ago from Retro Rides.
Definitely should have as I've been priced out of them now but the age old problem of where to keep all these cars that you could have bought for peanuts arises once more.

This!

It's not stupidly modded, nor is it stupidly low...

It sits on those 32s very well; but agree some original wheels could change its looks too, to make it more classy/OEM for that era

But 'messing with spacers and suspension' it is not; spacers take 5mins to remove...

Here's a bit of blue and brown(ish). I don't remember seeing it on here before.

Lovely colours and a 540i. Possibly one for someone in Scotland, to make the most of the promised free delivery....

It's just in budget (I'm not commenting on prices anymore). If it was a touring, I'd be getting very interested.

Thanks Dapster!!!

My car had that BRIGHT yellow leather (Yellowstone). So bold they didn't even put a pic of it in the brochure. I've yet to find a pic of an r129 in this spec, though I did find an SLK in the same combination.

I kind of like it even more now that it could be a one of one spec. Mrs Kul isn't so keen....

This is a Designo finish

As is this

Whereas this may just be an unfortunate LSD fuelled aberration at the AMG factory....

And how about this? Mercedes' own Drive By Wire SL500 R129 prototype - sans pedals and wheels

How can anyone list a car for sale in that condition?

Looks filthy & unloved

You'd want to go over that with very open eyes; looks like it needs a fair bit of TLC to bring it up to a clean standard

Agreed, the bonnet badge is in shocking shape, something that is quick and cheap to rectify, so why has it not been done before sale? That suggests scrimping elsewhere. The carpet and interior is absolutely filthy, the seller has not even hoovered the footwells. This is for sale by a 'dealer', what the hell is going on!?

Just had the dent man out to the CLS in the office car park, to attend to the little dink by the filler - I took more off the seller for the blemish than the fix cost me, so it's all good, and the dent won't wind me up every time I open the filler now.

Tim Bilton in North Wales if it helps anyone - highly recommended. He was apologetic because he was 'only' 95% happy with his work, but even in good light, with his fingernail next to the repair, I couldn't see it anymore.

It was very gratifying to have a paint and body man tell me what a nice example mine is - he has seen a few CLSs lately that have been 'heaps'.

The comfort seats in my old e39 wore like that from quite a low mileage.

She's very on board with my barging. She actively encouraged me to buy an S-Type.

You are right, of course though. They usually aren't to be listened to.

Good to know, I'll have to remember that as I'm only in Chester, not too far to go/have him come to for good work.

yes

It's a bit 'Scene' on the Type 32s. Nice though.

Error. tongue out

Why ask? Just tell. I told my wife she was having an X5. She's not displeased...until she has to fill it up with Super Unleaded. biggrin

That aluminium-lookalike trim REALLY doesn't suit the cream/beige interior!
