I’m afraid I don’t know how to post images from instagram: this account has some very nice cars featured but there is a dark brown SL (described as a 300?) which is coming up for sale and quite honestly it’s the most beautiful R129 I’ve ever seen.

129 not on their website yet but they do have this chococaramel delight as a substitute.

It genuinely makes me a bit sad that something so perfectly delicious is so rare and has probably spoiled all other (lesser) R129s for me. If they sold 5 in that colour combination I'd be surprised. The interior is fabulous. And the wheels.
A couple of years ago I was sat outside a bar here in southern Spain… it was a typically beautiful, sunny day, A Cayenne drove past… macadamia… the paint colour looked stunning in the bright sunlight.
I fear the Merc may not look quite as good under a typically dull British sky

Previous contender was an early UK car, 500SL with the green tartan/check cloth interior - offered a couple of times over the last decade.
I’m imagining the perfection of a two car carnage with this brown one along with the similarly equipped S-Class recently discussed on the barge thread…

The Japanese import SL? If it’s the one I’m thinking of that was the one I wanted to buy so went to have a look at the closest SL to me so I could get a benchmark and ended up buying that.Previous contender was an early UK car, 500SL with the green tartan/check cloth interior - offered a couple of times over the last decade.

That’s not tan. That’s Caramac.
Considering the country is literally the first part of their name and Bavaria lives in leather for a quarter of the year, I do not understand how BMW so consistently makes their leather interiors so woefully horrifically low rent. It really is the diametrical opposite to what they do with their clothing - the modern lederhosen and tailored jackets/clothes are stunningly well cut and high quality garments.
