I ended up on a lovely bit of road from the A6 (South East) back to the A47 via Houghton on the Hill so it wasn't all bad.
If you take the turn off the A47 for "Tilton on the Hill" and keep going you end up on some lovely stuff. Where was this flipped sign anyway, I'm concerned it may affect my life as well...I was only doing 34mph when I went past it so 50/50 if it's working and how much range the calibration has. Some are good for 36-37mph some 33mph it depends how broke the County Council is.

No pic, just wanted to get the screen clear and get to the jet wash. I won't bother reporting it, far more important things for the Police to get on with, but I will deal with her myself if we cross paths again.
Repay her in kind, but leave it in the can!The absolute fking tt in the Leon FR last night who decided that slowing for a road management crew putting out cones was for losers.
Everybody else had slowed down to an appropriate speed, given that workers were in a live lane, with there only protection being one of those crash cushion wagons and the van they were in.
But this dhead decided to undertake everyone at speed and then cut in at the last minute, which nearly caused a nasty smash.
WTF goes through peoples minds when they do things like this?

A few weeks ago I suggested people who can not do hill starts with the hand brake and sit at traffic lights and junctions with their foot on the brake were inconsiderate and incompetent.
Apparently hill starting with a hand brake is "impossible" with an automatic.
Well yesterday I became the owner of a Lexus LS400 (1UZ donor in case the Renesis goes Stimpy-ish in my RX8) and it took me about three seconds to work out how to hill start the behemoth.
Stop at a junction as normal and use the hand brake (in the case of the LS the foot operated parking brake). Take your foot off the brake pedal because while the engine is idling there is not enough centrifugal force for the gear to engage.
When the lights start to change or you see a gap etc slowly move the throttle pedal until you feel the gear bite and release the hand/parking brake (the lever to the left of the steering column on the Lexus).
That is how simple doing a hill start using the handbrake is in an automatic. Just as if not easier than a manual.
So the next time you see someone at a set of lights, junction, roundabout or anywhere sat with their foot on the brake pedal manual or automatic give them as much room as possible. They are a liability.

So i'm a liability because I don't put my handbrake on any time I stop?
Thanks for letting me know!
The two main points I made were. Thanks for letting me know!
1/ If something were to happen to you or your vehicle and your foot knocked off the brake pedal your vehicle will roll and potentially cause problems for other road users.
2/ If someone is behind you and you sit there dazzling them especially if you have those several hundred Lumen Cree LED brake lights at night it is "Driving Without Due Care and Attention or Consideration".
Sorry for any offense. It caused a bit of an argument last time and I gave automatic owners the benefit of the doubt as I didn't own one. Now I do and it is a ridiculously simple task.

So if you are behind me and my brake lights are on, which they will be, don't worry, I won't roll backwards. The wonders of modern technology.

Probably suffering from a severe case of chipped shoulder & desperate to compensate for the fact he was only in the seat of a SEAT. I honestly can't remember the last time I used my handbrake, mostly because being a BMW it doesn't work, and there's no real reason to use it, what I do sometimes find though is someone will borrow my car, park it up and I will drive it and for ages I will keep getting a *bing* and it takes me ages to work it out.Apparently hill starting with a hand brake is "impossible" with an automatic.

I did read your reply further down
1. What exactly would happen to you, or your car that would cause your foot to come off the brake? An accident is about the only thing I can of and well, really if that's happening, your foot on the brakes is the least of your concerns.
2. Look elsewhere? Don't focus on the super bright brake lights?
Now for main topic.
People who put Hi-Viz jackets in their rear windows, nobody thinks you're police, just think you're a bit a of a .

You might wanna rethink that and check your handbook. Leaving an auto in gear with the handbrake on can cause damage and if you drive a dual clutch auto, definitely do not do this! In my dual clutch car if I leave it in drive and put the handbrake on, the car tries to pull forward. If I leave my foot on the brake, the clutch disenages and does not work against the brakes. I believe this is true with most DSG style boxes. Leaving it in D with the handbrake on in a DSG is likely to cause premature clutch wear, much like holding a manual on a hill using the clutch. Apparently hill starting with a hand brake is "impossible" with an automatic.

Also for hill starts, loads of cars have Hill Assist. I stop on a hill and when I take my foot off the brake the car stays still waiting for me to drive off. There's absolutely no need for the handbrake to be applied.
Admittedly I'm in a manual, but I always use my brakes at lights. If you think brake lights are dazzling, then you must have extremely sensitive eyes. I've had my eyes lasered, so lights at night are amplified for me and I still have no problem whatsoever with the car infront having their brake lights on.
And again, you were talking about manual, but your opening statement just says about having your handbrake on and doing a hillstart. Surely I can hillstart just fine if I'm off the brakes and onto the gas? If somebody stops 2cm off my bumper, I'll put the handbrake on incase I roll back. But I'd probably sit on the brakes anyway; if they want to stop to a point where I can't see their front lights in my mirrors, they can get 'blinded.'
That's one thing I've never understood on PH, is the brake lights hatred. Maybe I'm just the knob.
