How about £10k for a very low mile Rover 216?

I used to like these as company cars, but 10k! The interior looks more worn than the stated miles suggests as well.

Hilarious they seem to think "this car has never had a MOT!" is actually a selling point on anything, let alone a 30 year old Rover.

Not ex Police core fleet .. it’s not to authorities spec nor fitted with a calibrated speedo, nor diesel
How can a calibrated speedo be identified?
Normally they have "Nottingham IRS" and much more marks between the 10 units than normal

£21,000 for an Austin Metro Moritz at a dealership in Switzerland.

www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1279873

My parents had one of these bought new. My only memories of it are of being sat in the back with the bonnet up. When my dad had Cancer my mum was afraid of it breaking down on the way to and from Christies, so she swapped it for a pre-reg Fiesta Popular, the cheapest new car she could find.

She still has the picnic box she got free with it. It came with two ski jackets as well and was supposed to come with a "Moritz" holdall, but the dealership had run out of the holdall so gave the picnic box as a substitute. It still does regular good service, even if the car was crap.
My grandfather's non-moritz mk1 metro lasted him 20 years with little trouble. If it hadn't been written off it'd have gone on even longer, though rust was catching up with it. I dont think it ever broke down apart from battery/alternators.

I guess sometimes duff cars can have individuals that last quite well, other times a usually good car can be a total lemon.

My mum had a few Metros before this one and got the Ford because my father was into them when he met her.

My granddad had a couple of Metros after before switching permanently to Vauxhalls.

I remember my mum looking at a Metro in 1994 and it was just too tinny compared to the Fiesta and Corsa we looked at as well. My granddad prohibited Volkswagens, so she didn't buy a Polo until he died.

Even though she didn't like the Metro, she did give serious consideration to a British Racing Green Mini Cooper the Rover dealer had. That could have paid for itself now.

Wrong grille on the car too-that chrome effort is from the facelift R8. The interior looks a bit tired from the pictures as you say...

The prices being asked are just LOL ridiculous at the moment. These dealers and private individuals need to give their heads a wobble. They think any old ste is worth a fortune. Anyone who actually pays these ludicrous prices needs sectioned. It's genuinely depressing as someone who is looking to buy a classic at the moment trawling through these deluded adverts.

Rover SD1 2600. Looks nice enough but £14,995 eek

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1323096

Same dealer. Escort 1600i cabriolet. Was recently for sale at another classic car dealer for ages at £9995 and they couldn't shift it. Now pops up with this dealer for £15,995.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1323083

Knackered Rover 820 Vitesse. Missfiring, rusty, rough. £5500. Jesus wept.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-820-vitesse/38405...

Boggo spec E34 520i. Nothing special mileage or condition wise. £10,000 rolleyes

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1274354

Mazda 323. Manky, rusty and rough as they come. He was wanting £4000 for it now down to £2000

The owner of that 820 Vitesse just wants out of it because he clearly ran over a bride on her wedding day in it. laugh

Either that or he's been using his mum's dining room nets as a car cover.

Another dipst, Saab 9000 V6 Griffin. £5500, salvage marker on it and it's done 168k. Looks quite rough despite him stating otherwise in his ad.

Have another laugh

Well looked after, yet no MOT history at all, only a bit of rust on the sill, apart from the jacking point next to it. This will be a “Tip of the iceberg” car...

Insane, isn't it? Desirable 5-speed box and undesirable 2600 engine. biggrin

i'd love to know how many of the cars that have appeared on here have actually sold.

Crap photos, badly washed and dirty interior. Seems like the kind of thing that would be better suited to SOTW

I'd love it if E46 330s were worth this kind of money. If this was a coupe or convertible with the same condition and mileage you'd be looking at around 3-4k max.
