I wonder if this is a stolen 595 that has the ID of the 1.3 diesel put on it, surely it would be cost prohibitive to do all those upgrades.....
Yes if someone was going to invest in that you'd really want to be doing all your due diligence on checking receipts for all parts, etc.

Vauxhall Adam

1.6T VXR conversion upgraded to 240BHP, still a 1.2 on the V5C.

Loving the way it says "all the lights on the dash go out as they should" - as opposed to "all the checking and safety systems working correctly". But at least the lights go out wink

Oh and Cat D...

Someone tagged me on this when it was on Facebook. I asked the seller if the VXR was stolen. No reply.

Indeed

I do like the idea of something with a big and / or powerful engine conversion but i'd be all over the paperwork and receipts as i do think (happy to be proven wrong) a lot of these are built with stolen parts / are ringers.

Same here. I'd love a sleeper with a great engine swap, but don't want anything dodgy.

Me too... The cars like the Abarth 595 set alarm bells ringing for me, after all what would it actually cost to do all those upgrades legitimately? I'd dare say more than buying a 595 in the first place. Yet they're worried about £20 a year on VED?

When I was younger, a friend of a friend put the engine from a scrapped RS Cosworth into a 1.3 Sierra. Looked like a boggo 1.3L but had Cosworth performance. Not declared because insurance. But, the 595 makes me think "stolen 595 with an eBay ringing kit applied".

That's a real shame... Assuming nothing is stolen on it that's a cheeky little roustabout of a car.

With the diesel gearbox I doubt it's possible to even pull 4th gear let alone 5th..

Speaking of prohibitive conversion costs

Golf 1.4 with full "Golf GTI conversion" and remap to 370BHP. Cant help but feel someones missing a black Golf GTI somewhere...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-1-4-tsi...

Just check there - still a 1.4TSI on the log book - oh and a MANUAL too, though the cars now DSG. Hes also managed to rig up the virtual dash, dashboard and sat nav too. Thats some conversion. rolleyes

Just did a further check on its MOT history.

17th Jul 2020, 43923 miles
1st Aug 2019, 62843 miles

Oh, and hes misplaced the docs for the car so they'd have to be applied for.

Seems legit....

Are you a new driver who cant get insurance for a normal Fiesta ST?

Simply buy this one - based on a Fiesta 1.4, still a 1.4 on the v5c - and to quote the seller "Perfect for a new driver who cannot get insured on a normal St"

Simply buy this one and "fool" your insurance company in to thinking you've been all sensible and opted for a little 94BHP variant instead!

What could go wrong?

What these dick heads don't realise is that it's pointless insuring the car anyway, any ins bought would be null and void. They may as well go out and buy that ST and just drive with no ins. wkers..

Because if they dont bin it they gets a years no claims and not pulled over by police.

I understand why they do it, cant say I agree with it though.

I was just about to post this one, but saw it was already here.

I like the fact the ad says it's "not modified" - er, if that's the case, how do you explain the ST engine conversion then? laugh

Then there's the fact it's had a "full conversation" - who's it been talking with? getmecoat

It appears they also forgot to turn off the, er, well i don't know what filter they turned on before taking the pics, but they're pretty bad hehe

5 door is more practical, the 3doors are a pita with the seats having to be folded forward.
The green is okay imo.
However, the wheels are inside out..

Another "Abarth" replica - evidently no expense spared, all done professionally, etc, except for declaring the fact it's no longer a Fiat 1.2 Pop to the DVLA.

Yes, but ask yourself this - when was the last time you had an accident and when was the last time you got pulled and they lifted the bonnet?
