I love the SAAB 900s! Are the seats as comfortable as they look?

Does it feel FWD, or does it get the power down ok?
Not really.

It's an old powerful FWD car - of course it doesn't.

I had loads of Saabs as a kid (96, 99, 900) as my Dad liked them and knew they were good in a crash.

They will probably need a minor refurb, my 900 seats are orthopaedic, my drives from West London to to the South West leave me fresh as a daisy, no need to stop. That's for a 23 year old car.

As for power, I have the 175 bhp T16s, this car is geared for the motorway, so it its very quick in gear , it does indeed pull like a train and keeps going . A lot of people are surprised, but the power is where you need it really.

We had an estate one of these many moons ago.
Two things that stand out are the brakes and the spherical speedo.
Brilliant car.

This doesn't look bad in the photos for 5k, might be a different story when you stood in front of it!

Can people please stop posting these things, along with the Bentley cousin, because I am just 1 drunken moment of madness away from buying one. This will result in a big fight with my bank account and having to live in the damn thing!
Probably worse places to live...........

I like the way the wipers are half way up suggesting the current owner just ran out of money or will power and coasted to a halt when the petrol tank ran out!
I must admit that RR looks awfully well turned out for 5k, but seems too cheap for me and suggests that some sizeable under-the-skin mechanical bork is imminent. As an example, replacing the two front springs on the uprights was not too far short of 2k back in 2008!

BTW, RR Spirit wipers have a peculiarity whereby when you turn them off mid-cycle they do a full wipe, stop in the position indicated in the pictures, then do another full wipe before "retracting" to fully closed. The vendor of this one might have turned off the ignition without turning the wipers off, so I suspect it's nothing to lose sleep over.

The seats are comfy but not the legendary Saab comfort I was expecting. As you say, they need a bit of a refurb and the leather is very dry.

I once read about the way those old SAABs were engineered. One account mentioned the door handles were designed to allow the fitment of rope to them, to allow the car to be towed out of a ditch! Can you imagine trying that on anything else? The handle would just pop right off laugh

The thing with Rolls Royce is, dispite the blah blah best in the world etc from certain sections of the public, they are entirely worthless.

I think my old BMW 750i used to do this when you'd used the washers. You'd wash and get a few wipes, then a pause, then a further wipe to get rid of anything that may have run down the screen afterwards.

Change the plates and lose the roof rack.

Plus, is parked in a cemetery with the bonnet up the best place to photo a car for sale?

Just to be clear the "L" stands for luxury.
Try reviewing that, then look at the "L" and not saying "LUUKSHUURI" aka MPFC Yorkshiremen sketch.
