Hi Bungle,The E91 is my old car and I've also owned an F31 335i manual. The F31 was a step up in technology and interior space, but as a car to drive, it was inferior to the E91. I also had a very annoying 'rev hang' issue with the F31 that BMW wouldn't or couldn't resolve. Something to do with NOx emissions.
Tobias, the guy who bought the E91 off me and is now selling it, is a top man and he's looked after it very well. Of the two, I'd opt for the E91 every time.

I think there is a 2000 tax on that car for manual as I see my 335i auto at about 2000 less.MattOz said:

Thanks Matt. Very helpful. I don't like the march of tech in cars generally, so maybe the E91 would also suit me better. The E91 is my old car and I've also owned an F31 335i manual. Did you fit the Eibachs? How did they compare to OEM?
Is that about the market level for E91s? Going off nothing but gut feel, and other similar marques/models of the same age/miles etc, it felt a bit "toppy" at almost £13k, I was thinking it would be max £10k, but admittedly I don't have much as a reference point or knowledge on BMW (or E91) prices.

The car was on the Eibachs when I bought it. The first owner, a Doctor, fitted them. I bought the car from its second owner. I added the F10 M5 illuminated gear knob and tr-stitched M3 steering wheel. Price wise, it's a tricky one. My current E90 335i is on an 11 plate. Manual car with 43k miles. I'd expect it to be £13k all day long. An E91 is arguably a better/cooler car. Given the limited number of LCI E91 335i's that were sold in the UK, the market is small. Some have sold for less, some for more. How many other equivalent cars are on the market today? And by that, I mean LCI E91 335i manual. Did you fit the Eibachs? How did they compare to OEM?

Sorry, I'm probably being thick... I get that manuals are often higher emissions that their auto equivalent (I had that with my old car) and hence higher tax, but what's the "2000 tax" reference? MattOz said:

mmm. Fair point. Hence my lack of reference points for comparison!bungle said:

It's £2000 more just because it's manual. That feels like a high tax on something which isn't exactly a sports car. It's a sporty BMW estate.
Although it's worth mentioning that it hasn't sold yet at that price.
One of the chaps on the e91 6 pot thread recently sold a super low mileage manual 330i for about 9000 - from memory - and it sold quickly.
Doh! I was being thick, I read it as the actual VED was more as it was a manual (which it is on some Audi's!), but totally get what you mean now, sorry. I blame it on jet lag frying my brain after my hols...
Love the Bandit car (how many people will watch that now over the weekend? )

Whilst ostensibly searching for B7 RS4s, my "V8 manual" search threw up this... didn't even know they existed (manual)...
Would it ruin me??!! I've always quite liked them , but had assumed a) they would all be autos, and b) the purchase price is but the tip of the iceberg to entry ££££££££
