It reminds me of an 80's Celica that was parked in the wrong spot during a Monster Truck meet. To be fair, if you drive this, you're either VERY thick skinned, have a great sense of humour. Or REALLY f*****g stupid.

I think a combination of all 3 would probably suffice...

Remnants of a Lambo and first series Esprit and Detamaso Pantera is what I see. The exterior IMO is pretty decent looking, probably because of the similarities of the cars I mentioned above.

The interior on the other hand rolleyes is something i've never seen before. Hideous does not begin to capture the meaning of that interior. And the engine is funky looking as well.

I'm with you on this one. Surely every village had a nutter back in the 70s with a Cortina\Herald\beetle based kit car that looked overwhelmingly glorious to an 8 year old?

Nova anyone?

I REALLY want one of those!
I REALLY wanted one, at the time - the coolest thing this side of a Countach LP400!
I'm with you on this one too !

Why? Because some members of a huge forum community a) Were impressed with the look of the Nova when they were young. or B) Still think it looks good now?

Doesn't come as a suprise tbh. It is a design that evokes some great supercar memories and is probably exactly what you would have sketched as a young lad if asked to draw a "Ferrari".

Unfortunately the reality of the underlying engineering and quality of materials is what puts the rest of us off and amuses us when the Nova is mentioned in the same sentence as genuine classics/supercars.

Each to their own. I think the black Nova looks pretty good in the photo above, but thats as far as my affection for it goes.

I see the earlier commented upon overarching sense of superiority is back again 300 smile

As has been explained on multiple occasions by multiple posters the comment that amused us was.

"You could park the Nova next to a 458 italia and not feel out of place"

Which is clearly ridiculous.

No argument that it would turn heads, though not necessarily always in a good way as was requested by the OP.

I'm hoping we finally understand each other?

Understand each other?? No idea, but maybe.

But yes, that comment was made fully in context of the thread title.

At large shows, maybe like this:

You could, as the Merc has, park up next to a F458 and not feel out of place, but likely turn as many heads.

Maybe you still don't agree, but this is what I think, and such shows as this are huge (1500 cars) and highly varied.

Oooh, nice Merc, always fancied a classic.

Nice 944 over there too look- quite affordable now as well, perhaps worth looking at......

Wow.....458, amazing.

That one? Thats an MX5 love, yeah, nice enough, cheap to run, good fun to drive and a soft top.

Whats that? erm, its a crappy fibre glass home built car. Yes, it does look like something you would see in a 70's porno...................

Sorry, but the difference between a classic merc and that other contraption is huge.
