in the world of skint youngsters, can't afford to fill up.... wages are carefully budgeted to an amount of petrol per day...

i've actually got about 7 saver accounts and all the money from my paycheck gets siphoned into a different one on standing order for the week...

so 30 pound into one for fags,
40 into one for petrol,
50 for booze,
20 in the porsche fund biggrin

don't know if its false economy but i seem to be less skint now i do this... i think your more conservative with the loud pedal when you've convinced yourself you've only got 40 quid for the week yikes

I've just taken on a 2nd job, which means I get 5hrs sleep on a Friday night (1800-0100 Friday 0630-1400 Saturday) to help fund my drink and driving (not together!) lifestyle.

Only young once eh? drivingbeer

I actually work in a petrol garage, and deal with customers almost every day shouting over the penny. None of the till staff would ever charge the penny if the customer didnt have it, or break into a note and give the customer back £9.99 change.

The pumps at the petrol station i work in were never designed to go over a pound a litre, so theyre sensitive. But i fill up there and just stop on £19.99 with no problems. The pumps go over by a penny about 40% of the time (yes i was sad enough to check).

The idea that petrol stations are scamming customers out of a penny now and then is ridiculous. We probably have about one person a day drive off without paying for fuel, so thats at least a £20 loss. The patrol station would have to 'scam' 2000 customers in a day to make up that money, that the staff don't even charge for.

People complain to trading standards, so once a month the 'weights and measures' people come in and one by one check every single pump... the test are paid for by the tax payer, who is the customer.
