Here's hoping. Have you seen how bleedin' expensive stuff like the Nissan 200sx is for a car of that age and power?

Those rear seats are going to be interesting, have Toyota or Subaru mentioned anything about child seats in their press releases?
Good point. Not sure there's any point in fitting any rear seats really, unless they're for Warwick Davis.

Maybe they haven't fitted them, hence the low weight ?
at a guess, a lot of people have kids, and thus wouldn't buy a 2 seater, but would buy one of these?

Obviously its not going to be an 'only car', but if you need to do the school run once in a while its more than up to the job

looks like an ugly version of the previous generation Z4 coupe from the rear/half view.
Not exactly a compliment then !
I though it wasn't too bad!
A bit monstrous, but all these Subarus and Toyotas also...
What was absolutely dull and even ugly was the dashboard of the old Z4;
it was less interesting than any Corean car!
TBF I absolutely love the old Z4 Coupe, especially the Z4M, one of my favourite looking BMWs... but this looks like a bad chinese copy of it from the rear 1/4 to me.

My initial reaction to this and the GT86 are...why bother? Coupe sales are bottom feeders. Who do Toyota and Subaru think they'll woo with these lacklustre offerings? As others have said, this very car could have been launched 10 years ago with the same exact specs and design. Typical Toyota consensus boredom.

Which coupes? The big engine, high emmission, fuel guzzling muscle cars? Or the bland, turbocharged FWD hatchbacks in frocks?

And what are the odds that a car that looks awesome from the outside will have an interior that looks like Subaru spent 15p on it?

I've always wanted a Subaru but just can't accept those cheap plastic interiors they do.

It looks too fussy compared to the Toyota. Then again, Subarus in general look too fussy compared to other cars.

If the interior quality is as good as the styling looks then it gets my vote.

Subaru, call me at the end of 2012 when you've got something more interesting to offer.

Will it be easy to import these in order to get round the comedy CO2 bandings, say if they put a turbo lump in there?

Really, stick the Hyundai badge back on already.

With that in mind it's not so bad (~£18k-£19k) but the combined forces of Toyota and Subaru? It beggars belief. If this doesn't out handle an RS Megane then really, what is the point?

For me the Megane even looks better...

Subaru's (certainly the one's i have had/got) have been superb driving heaven ! with bombproof mechanicals and performance in abundance...

...This needs to have the same qualities in my book!...Otherwise it just not a Subaru !!

Which wheels does the Megane use to put it's power down.
