Pads made lots of difference on my STi. Noticed mainly on track though... Obviously the pads won't fit new calipers, so maybe try getting somebody local to take you out in an STi and perform an emergency stop hehe
The car will be seeing the track at some point, so that's good to know. I find the standard WRX brakes aren't even really good enough for heavy B-road use.
I thought the brakes on my WRX were okay on B roads at 260bhp. 330 is what my STi is roughly making, and that does need the bigger brakes... I never tracked my WRX PPP, so I cant comment on that...

No, no. When you come to sell it you ask me if I want them. I want first dibs on this as is. Looks wonderful smile
Ha, thanks! smile I'm hoping to keep the car for a few years, though very little has stayed with me for that long.

Perhaps it is the friction material on mine then. I could change the pads, but then it's money I could put towards some Brembos or another kit. At least I don't have to worry about changing the wheels for Brembos, unlike most WRX owners. smile

Ive only know 5 people that have had imprezas. Not one engine failure between them.

Known plenty of people have problems with the vag 1.8t though.

They are great cars, you will never buy any older performance car that does not have forums telling of the woes.

Indeed, my mates Seat Leon Cupra R was incredibly fast but there was some long standing fault with it going into limp home mode sometimes, when the car was being pushed hard on a hot day. Never got to the bottom of it before the car was sold!

On the other hand, my dad's Impreza and various colleagues with Imprezas seem to just be going and going. I'd always thought of the Impreza as having a tough, tough engine. I can think of a few that I see every day at work, some are ancient examples in dire cosmetic condition and they're still going!
