One went past the house a week or so ago, I had to go out to the garden. The noise! If I could have recorded it, I'd have put it on CD. Spotted it again later, it was doing the school run.

Single or not, 20,30, whatever age, yes damn right I would own one for the noise alone, fantastic. biggrin

Yes! I love the Gran Turismo so I'd have one (although I'm older than 36 and married with kids, but that's not WHY I'd have one biggrin)

Would it be my first choice? Probably not, but I've never been in a position to afford such an expensive car, so who knows?

I would have one over an Aston, they are a classier choice IMO.

A Granturismo S is the first car i would buy if i won the lotto, been in a Granturismo S and 2 Gransport's, neither of them are an "old mans" car.

Thanks Melvster....my pic wink Oh...and my car (well, was)! At 32 I had a Granturismo S (the one in that picture to be precise) and never felt too young for it. Shame it wasn't exactly the most reliable of cars...whilst it never broke down, plenty broke on it! It was also quite average dynamically....not poor, just average against what you can get for similar budget.

Anyway, now a year older at 33 (and practically on my last legs laugh), I've really have gone and bought an old mans car.....

I only came across the XKR by chance....not because I didn't know they existed but (mainly as a result of perceived brand image) I'd never have considered one until I was given one for a weekend. So, whilst everyone else can think of it as an old mans car, I'll continue to enjoy the combination of performance, handling, ride, refinement and construction that makes it a very underrated car.

Declan Donnelly (tv twazzock) has just bought one for himself, but I'm thinking it's a bit of an old man's car ain't it? I mean if I was 55 and married or something, then maybe. But 36? Should be in a sports car if you ask me.

Thats not a nice way to talk about the Maserati Adam laugh Wash your mouth out young man!

Now, despite having taken the photo's myself, I've never seen the Maserati and Jag's next to each other on a picture like in your quote and (this will upset you) I reckon the XKR does actually make the Granturismo look a bit barge like - in particular, over-bodied and under-wheeled. I know it's a subjective matter and until seeing that picture I'd always have said the Maser was one of the best looker's out there but now I'm not so sure. Still, I am now extremely biased wink

I would not say the Maserati is a barge, yes it has a lardy arse but not a barge (yet).

Just noticed the wheels on the XKR, they would look right at home in Cheshire biggrin

How come you got rid of the XFR?? i liked that a lot.
