Err... this is a Clubman - not a Countryman.
It's actually a traveller!

Van looks good, but then so did the original one

It will sell well!

Any news on a Diesel S model?
They'll probably put the engine from the Cooper SD in it.

PH's photoshop definitely looks better, but maybe thats just cos its based on a Cooper S

I prefer this to all of them:

I'd like one painted in Dove grey on steel wheels, the same as my first car, a "proper" Mini van, 1967 vintage!

If the Mini can be made in a basic enough form to keep costs down I can see a bright future for it.
It all swings back to this...Hopefully BMW will see sense and price it accordingly.

I'm easgerly awaiting the arrival of th pick up. I think a voutryman version of the pickup could be better though smile

I think that'll do well, the posh boutique shops of Kensington and Chelsea, Notting Hill etc will lap it up.

Of all the Mini spin offs I think this one actually works.
I agree, far nicer than the bulk of the range, just going to be a squeeze if you wanted to move two PCs...

Sure it will be priced out of the market for people considering Corsa vans and similar. Nevetheless, bound to be a hit with some sectors who are in more of a 'lifestyle' business. I can see florists, valeters, interior designers coveting one of these

Definitely for the "Interior Designer" in all of us!

I like it - but wish they'd "lost" the stupid extra side door, I can't see that it adds any functionality especially in this country and it looks thtoopid.

The original is just so much cooler:

Classic Mini AA Service Van by HereBeBeasties, on Flickr

Those rear doors look amazingly thick on this one. Every inch matters in a van!

Right with you on this!

Clubvan Workman edition:

Vinyl flooring, sturdy fabric seats, keep fit windows (unless all Minis have elecs anyway), steel wheels, rubber load liner, plain white paint, but leave the air-con in. Job done biggrin

I paid £360.00 for a new minivan first time around, no purchase tax as it was a commercial vehicle. At weekends two of us used to sleep in it near Brighton Beach and it did many RAC approved night rally's including winning a number of class awards as long as you had a rubber glove over the distributor and plug leads! lAbsolutely loved it, sad night when I rolled it and wrote it off. Good memories!

I’d have one!

Then I’d fit it with the Countyman WRC bumpers/spoiler/bonnet, retrofit the countryman 4x4 system and hoon it about on my offroad duties! With the vicious antilag reproduced like one of them fake dump valves people have!!

I’d also expect to see it in the badly modified thread! wink

Seriously tho, do away with the stupid side door, and it would be a decent ‘posh van’. Suitable for the estate agents and auto parts delivery firms. Or florists etc like someone has already mentioned.

As for the worry of pricing, what's that matter? It's residuals that count, and MINI has that sewn up!
