I've been admiring this beast this morning. Not entirely sure about the colour though, I'd probably need to see it in the flesh.

You're not sure? It's olive green.
How can you not be sure?

I like it. Makes a pleasant change from the usual. Get it bought.
I'm window shopping from the sofa. I suspect if I turned up with another car (I have 3 already) I'd find myself lacking a couple of vital bodily attachements and speaking in a squeaky voice. .
However, the LWB version does seem to offer a decent amount of rear space, and I fancy a barge for wafting about in or going to the office (have the diesel company car for work).

Not impressed with Falken 912's. A few "mildy moist" junctions have resulted in wheel spins and a festive dashboard.

Never had this with dunlops or contis.

Oh well.

Which car is this on? I've driven and owned plenty of cars on Falkens and I've always found them to be a really good tyre, especially at the price point.

My biggest mistake was getting four new tyres for my Impreza. Asked for Falkens, they weren't available on the day but I had a puncture so I wanted something on there sharpish. Went for Rotallas, as they were the next cheapest tyre. Pure st. Less road noise, but a soft, crappy compound and absolutely disastrous grip in the wet! Should have stuck with Falken!

RR also have a flip back design for their spirit of ecstasy mascot since the 80's or whenever.
Current ones descend fully into the top of the "radiator" grille when a frontal impact is detected.
And you wouldn't want your finger/nose/knob in the way when they do. Dramatic.

I love those curtains!

Just looked at the adverts at the bottom of the page. Weber gas BBQ's? I was thinking "why are these here?".

Until I spotted the one saying "smoker BBQ's"!

I've done about 3000 miles on my Falken 912s so far. In some ways they're really quite good - much quieter than the OEM Dunlop or Goodyear run-flats, half the price of those, decent lateral grip. Negatives would include a slight lack of traction (though no worse than the Goodyear run-flats) and the ride not being that much better than the OE Dunlops despite them not being run-flats. Perhaps the sidewalls are thick because it's not visibly obvious even when they're 10psi down. For the money I rate them about 7 out of 10. I'll go for Goodyear Assymetrics next. I'd have the 912s again, though.

I know there is always plenty of E39-love here, and perhaps with reason, but Grey leather and that wood trim is really nasty.

Agreed. One or other's OK, but together it's just too much. Better than Silver with beige though.

I've tried Dunlops, Contis, Goodyear and Michelin on my 530 Touring. Not going to review pros/cons of them all but I switched to Falken 912 about 50,000 miles ago and have found them the best all rounder. Had two sets in that 50k.

Dunlop SP9000 were really good but unbelievably loud. At least I think it was the Dunlops.

Either way found the 912s a good compromise. Not stunning in any single aspect but highly competent in all.

Bloody hell it's cold! Just washed and leathered the Jaaaaaaag, too cold to polish tonight, and stuck her in the garage to polish tomorrow.

Really do think an X300, especially in R trim (de-chromed, the R wheels) is one of the most elegant cars of modern times. I don't think Jag have made anything as pretty since (excluding 308 as it's the same car essentially) The proportions just look spot on; the size of the arches and wheels, it's low slung roofline and neat rear end. Real presence but not in a shouty way, it's a big old barge but not in a bulbous or bloated way. Graceful and purposeful.

On a LS430 when does a cambelt need to be changed?

On another note, tell me more about this;

Only issue I can think of is a bit of delaminating on the passenger rear window
