That would suggest the wider 8.5J wheel then...
Does this help? Provides tyre size, but not wheel.http://www.helpfindmea.co.uk/cars/specs/bmw-1-seri...

Well, a 225 is a bit narrow for post LCI but still within tolerances. Could be the LE wheels are the narrower 8Js
The LEs were produced as some of the first LCI cars. The tyres provided on them were pre-LCI size however - kinda odd and consequently looked a bit stretched. As you say, within tolerances though and didn't seem to be an issue with handling. I think a lot of 130 fans run 225 all round and say that gives the best balance.LE wheels are 8.5" rear like all the other facelift 18" MSport wheels.
There's no way a £2k price difference like for like against the 123d though, I've recently sold privately a mint 57 plate 60k mile 123d M Sport 5 door (replaced with a 130i) which eventually sold for just over £9500 to the first person to view it after about a month on sale on PH, Autotrader, eBay and a couple of 1 Series forums advertised under £10k, there's no way you'd get a facelift 130i for a lot less than that.

Good stuff.I run 225 all round on my winter set but a staggered set up for summer.

No it may not be the best looking car but its a 260 bhp hot hatch with RWD.... no comparison no competitors.... Focus RS shouts louder than it goes and its fwd... the 130i LE was a 34k car new.... its a bargain now.
Great car great choice, get some new suspension a diff and the 6pot performance breaks and the thing is a weapon for work and the weekend.
It is a fine car, but no competitors? The S3 8P would stomp it in most performance categories (even the old, heavy R32 was faster and a more composed drive). Great car great choice, get some new suspension a diff and the 6pot performance breaks and the thing is a weapon for work and the weekend.

I moved from an S3 (tuned to 300 bhp) to a 130i and I can tell you now the S3 is a dull piece of st in comparison.
Can only assume you're basing your views on that silly Top Gear review where they took a rwd car on runflats and put it against an AWD car with proper tyres on a DAMP track! Like to see the outcome on a dry track with proper tyres.
Either way, one is hoot and the other is just a big dollop of understeer.
