Like so many others, it was seeing and hearing a Wedge that got me wanting a TVR as a young teenager. Took me twenty five years to finally get around to buying one! smile

I'm 18 so I had never heard of these cars before… I saw some of the pictures you guys published on these comments and I must say - I am absolutely stunned...

Here's my old 350I, parked on an appropriately named road...

This was, for nearly two years and about 15,000 miles, my only mode of transport!

I bought it quite cheap and a little tatty, spent most weekends fixing it or just tinkering with improvements / upgrades.
People (except the missus!) loved it wherever I went.

Dartford Tunnel in 2nd gear with the roof down was a motoring event I will never forget!
On a nice day I couldn't wait for the drive to or from work.
Despite bits breaking / falling off quite often it only ever left me stranded once, with ecu trouble.

I'd loved to have kept it as a second car, but I don't really want (and can't afford to) run two cars and I couldn't face another winter with it so moved it on.
It actually sold within a week of going on sale! In November!
On hot sunny days I miss it, on cold autumn nights driving home from work in the rain I don't miss it!

I have to admit though, after seeing this article, I did go and search the classifieds! And Autotrader. And Ebay... scratchchin

In that case I very nearly bid against you!

Snap one up while they're still cheap as chips, I reckon. Chapman-era Lotii have got to start appreciating one day...

I never liked the looks of the Wedges but I must admit they're growing on me. They're very unapologetic!

How do they compare to a Chimaera to drive?

Have to agree with the handling comment, my 350i was pretty bad.
Surprised - I can't remember every pushing my 2 * 350i that much but the handling I always found was fine. The 450SE was very controllable even before I upgrade bits. Having done 60 odd trackdays in mine, there's 'nowt wrong with the handling at all when set up properly. 450SE vs a Nissan 200SX that I had for a while.....well, I know which one handles better and is least likely to put off the road.
I had three TVRs and the wedge was definitely the worst handling! But it's a handbuilt car from the 80s so it's expected to be honest.

Since you're same county as me, perhaps I can change your views of the handling of them one day wink

Quite possibly! Although I think your 450 is probably a lot more sorted in the handling department than a standard 350i.

Ugly? Have you not been looking at the right pictures? It is sex on wheels.
