Was the correct pronunciation "boot koop" too? If so not much has changed!
I remember seeing a guy talking about fitting a 325 engine in another car and being met with the response of "Why, are you looking to make tea?"
I've never quite understood why you're not allowed a "g" at the end of diffin, but it is the way it is.
Haha yes, it was boot koop. I preferred them to the normal Koop myself. It seems I was alone with that though. Didn't see many of them in the north but across the border there were loads! Any time we went to Donegal they were everywhere.I remember seeing a guy talking about fitting a 325 engine in another car and being met with the response of "Why, are you looking to make tea?"

"Diffin" I never understood either but I was a "runner in" so just dealt with it.
Funnily enough, I had heard the same about 325i's. A 325i sport, dolphin grey or red one on alpina's though.
I would still give either of my balls to own one. Lovely, lovely cars.
Spoilers in general are often called tea trays or picnic tables.
Fans of air cooled Porsche 911s often refer to all water cooled examples (from the type 996 onwards) as "kettles".
Both the late model Scooby (Subaru Impreza) and the "Ugly" (Ford) Scorpio have been known as the "bug eyed monster".
"Ricer" is a generic term for any extensively externally modified Japanese hatchback.
Any small car in a questionable state of repair would normally be referred to as a "sh**box"
"Shopping Trolley" and "Station Car" are also umbrella terms for any small inexpensive hatchback.
Original Minis - "Roller Skate".

Ah, most of the good ones are gone.
Anchor - VR6 engine, due to their weight, especially the way it made Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs handle when some fool shoehorned one on.
I can't say I have tried a mk1 VR6 but the mk2 "boat anchor" brigade are too often poorly informed and have never built/driven a mk2 VR6 swap. If it's done properly they are cracking bits of kit that handle the corners much the same as a GTI but blow them into the weeds on the straights/high speed sections.Anchor - VR6 engine, due to their weight, especially the way it made Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs handle when some fool shoehorned one on.
Another Awful nickname that seems to be catching on "RAAAARRRRRRII" for Ferrari. That one really grinds my gears!
