Also biased, but love these and think they're something a bit different.

Does this mean we should be expecting a new Corrado in a few years time? (fingers crossed)

Back in 2008 I testdrove one for a whole day. Nice car but gave it back and bought an S2000 the next day, that I still have. No regrets whatsoever. Jump to 2016. Choice between Golf-R & Focus RS. Liked the Golf bar the looks. Scirocco still looked good but ancient platform put me off. Now if it had the Mk 7 chassis and the R drive system then I would probably bought that instead of the RS. Shame VW just let it stagnate; RIP.

Not a future classic in the slightest.

Here's mine being abused as per usual at Cadwell the other week.

Great pic. Were you a Silverstone GP earlier this year in March I think ? There was a similar car.

The car buying public caused that by buying st loads of SUVs. No sense in spending ££ on this model if you can spend it on models that people want. I agree its a shame though

All credit to the photographer (who isn't me, obviously!!)

I did it last year in October with Sunday service?
And there again this Sunday :-)

Not done a full day, far too expensive !

The TT seems to sell well enough?

Love the looks of the scirocco, I think the original of this shape is one of the best looking cars made this century.

Would like to own one at some point. Not surprised it's on it's way out though, but I'm sure it'll be back in 10 years time when VW are just different shades of SUV and need something to add a bit of brand excitement and sparkle to the dullness.

Yes but under £200 for a full day GP in March this year ! Wouldn't pay twice as much for a summer day that will be even more taxing on brakes/tyres.

Try what exactly - Corolla Verso, CX5, FR-V and Scenic spring to mind!

None of them tried anything vaguely sporting (apart from Toyota with the GT86, and that isn't exactly a huge seller)!

I'm sure what most manufacturers make is ideally what most people will buy - but I don't want any of them. laugh

I understand your point.

But the point being made was that by and large most car manufacturers make, mainly, white goods on wheels.

A few exceptions aside.......

The Peugeot 208 GTI. Brilliant. But it's one mode of one car out of the ten or so cars they sell .

Anybody know of any decent buyers guides for the Scirocco R (first gen) please?
